Please teach. I live with my parents and my dad does the shopping for household items since my sister and I are in school and work on weekends and he's the kind of guy who's all "the price is the price". I'm new to couponing and would like to be able to send some with him.

I would say SMART. Cheap is when you want the world and refuse to pay for it. We are paying for things willingly and we don't DEMAND it for free.

Toothpaste.. Most definitely. I see people pay 3+ dollars per tube and I just cringe.

I see toothpaste at the dollarama for $2 a tube. It makes me wonder why it's even there when it's well known that the SDM across the street has it for cheaper.

I wouldn't pay more than a dollar for office supplies, chocolate bars, a bottled pepsi, toothpaste (but with the free coupons for crest pro-health our dentist gave us we don't have to worry about that for at least a year), canned soup and deodorant.

These days I am more mindful of shopping for clothing as well. No more than $5 for a GOOD pair of leggings and $20 for a pair of jeans.

June 1 starts the P & G coupons on brandsaver.ca. You can order them and show him/shop with him and these coupons. Go to the coupons forum for more ideas. Also websaver.ca, save.ca, gocoupons.ca, livingwell.ca, kashi.com (occasionally). Other SCs can tell you more locations than I can...

Safeway right now has a sale on most 2l pops! i think Coke and 7up are excluded?

Anyways, there are coupons for save $1 wub 1 12 pack, 2 2l, or 1 6 pack,(Dr. Pepper, Shweppes, Crush) making the 2L bottles .50 each! Card limit of 10, I totally stocked up, as my DH goes though Gingerale like it's water lately!

I started saving the sunlight coupons for stacking purposes... only up to $3 so far but i will get there.

I'm new to the whole hardcore savings thing, but it's a total rush! I love it! FreshCo's price match did me a wonder this week, spent 1$ on blueberries, blackberries, $1/lb on vine tomatoes (Foodbasics sale). I've never spent so little on fresh produce! <3

I also have noticed the majority of coupons are not for food, but drug store/beauty and cleaning items. I wish there were more food coupons, there are a lot for junk. Why not by one romaine get one free? Or carrots?
