Ontario government to introduce legislation to ban scalper bots
We all know how tough it can be to get our hands on sporting event or concert tickets; remember the Tragically Hip’s summer tour last year?
Well, the province is set to introduce legislation today that would impose new rules on reselling tickets and ban so-called scalper bots. Ontario was prompted to take a look at the issue after outcry from fans shut out of last year's Hip tour.
Scalper bots are designed to purchase large numbers of tickets online, enabling the person running the software to sell them at a profit.

The numbers have been increasing since the late 1980s.
Ontario to create safe zones around abortion clinics
Ontario will create safe zones around abortion clinics to protect women who seek their services and the health-care workers who perform them.
The zones, which will extend 50 to 150 metres around Ontario’s eight abortion clinics, are designed to protect women who choose to access the services. The zones are spaces where advising a person to refrain from getting an abortion, anti-abortion protests and intimidation or interfering with a woman’s ability to access the services will be banned,
The ban will also automatically apply to 150 metres around the homes of abortion staff and health professionals who provide the services.
