The Prime Minister is calling it another positive step towards gender equality. Canada’s senate has given the green light to a bill to make the anthem more gender neutral, with the bill passing third reading in the senate last night.
Only royal assent is needed now in order to change the second line of ``O Canada'' from ``in all thy sons command'' to ``in all of us command.'' The change will fulfill the dying wish of liberal MP Mauril Belanger, who died from a-l-s two months after the bill passed in the commons in June 2016.
