Good morning fellow Canucks!

We went to the Blue Rodeo / Sam Roberts concert on Saturday. We took the train down and had a difficult time finding a parking spot at the Port Credit GO station. So we paid for parking in Port Credit about a 5-10 minute walk from the train station. When we arrived to the Ex, it was wall to wall people with concert goers, CNE patrons and TFC fans. It took us a half an hour to get from the train station to Ontario Place.

When we finally got there, we missed the opening act, Devon Cuddy. But we did get to see The Sam Roberts Band. They were amazing, and I would pay to see them again. Blue Rodeo was good, but I haven't heard of half the songs that they played. It was still good, but I preferred Sam Roberts show.

Of course when the concert ended, we were waiting at the train station with concert goers, TFC fans and Ex patrons. You would think that GO would have more trains. Well, we managed to get on the first train and we actually got a seat!

All in all, it was a good night for my family.

Fun-fact time! It was in 1953 that a partner at a British die-casting company, miniaturized a previous scaled down design of an Aveling Barford Road Roller so his daughter could bring toys to school "that fit inside a matchbox". Matchbox cars are still in production to this day and some of the original models have become highly collectible, some fetching upwards of $10,000

City of lights is putting the brakes on those enormous tour buses that roam their already crowded city. Paris's deputy mayor, recently told the French newspaper, Le Parisien, that "buses are no longer welcome in the very heart of the city." They are encouraging tour guides to conduct their tours by bike or on foot.

Wow, Labour day is coming up fast. What a great summer for weather, especially after that crappy spring that we had. Hopefully summer will extend well into the fall.
