Accused serial killer Bruce McArthur to make court appearance today
Accused serial killer Bruce McArthur will be back in a Toronto court today via video link. The 66-year-old self-employed landscaper was arrested in January and has since been charged him with six counts of first-degree murder. Police say most of his alleged victims were men who had gone missing from Toronto's gay village.
McArthur’s appearance comes as Toronto’s top cop continues to face scrutiny for comments recently made in the media. Mark Saunders has released a statement after suggesting in an interview with the globe and mail that the LGBT community could have done more as officers investigated missing men from the city's gay village.
Saunders put out a statement saying he wanted everyone, "particularly the community" to understand his "intent," releasing the interview in its entirety.

Ontario PC leadership candidates race face off in second debate in Ottawa
The four candidates competing to lead Ontario's Opposition will face off once more today as the Progressive Conservatives try to turn the page following weeks of unrivalled upheaval.
Former Tory legislator Christine Elliott, Toronto lawyer and businesswoman Caroline Mulroney, former Toronto city councillor Doug Ford and social conservative advocate Tanya Granic Allen are taking part in the second and final debate before the party selects a new leader.
Former leader Patrick Brown -- who launched a bid to reclaim his old job a day after the first debate -- was expected to join them for the Ottawa event. But Brown backed out of the race Monday, saying his candidacy had caused hardship for his friends and family, and had drawn focus away from the party's goal of defeating the governing Liberals in the spring election.
McCann gets OT winner as Panthers top Leafs
Jared McCann scored at 3:47 of overtime and the Florida Panthers beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 on Tuesday night. McCann grabbed a loose puck in the neutral zone, skated in and fired a shot from the slot past goalie Curtis McElhinney.
