Sad news in Radio land,

June 1988 to March 26, 2018. It was a great run! It's all I ever wanted to do and incredibly all I ever wanted to work at Q107. Thank you to the GREAT listener ship I've enjoyed for so many years. I hope you enjoyed me too! One thing though, I'm not done yet!

Al Joynes has been restructured out of Q107. No more Caturday or Psunday mornings. Wonder if anyone else has been restructured out.

Corus Radio Cuts Get Al Joynes

There was a bit of a bloodletting at Corus yesterday. Amongst the casualties is long-time Q107 personality Al Joynes. Al Joynes had been at Q107 since 1988, although that includes two separate tours of duty at the station. Al will appear on Toronto Mike'd next week, so subscribe here so you don't miss it.

DVP closed at Don Mills due to rollover

Trouble for commuters on the DVP this morning -- the Don Valley Parkway is closed at Don Mills Road on the heels of a truck roll over, before Bayview, Bloor. It happened around 6:30am this morning and police and emergency crews on scene say you can expect heavy delays on the DVP right through the morning drive as a result. For now, traffic being diverted off at Don Mills.

Opening Day at Rogers Centre

It’s the first sign that summer is right around the corner – baseball is back. The Blue Jays kick of a new season this afternoon at home against the Yankees, a team favoured to win the AL east this season. Today's home opener marks the first time the Jays have started a season at home since 2013. With the new season comes new security measures in an around the Rogers Centre. Concrete barriers, meant to protect pedestrians from vehicles possibly mounting the curb, have been installed outside the facility. Police will also be closing Bremner Blvd. and Blue Jays Way from Spadina to Bay Street to all vehicular traffic after every home game in order to safely clear fans from the area. Won't be there today, but I will be there for Sunday's game. GO BLUE JAYS GO!

Leafs hang on for win, set franchise records

The Toronto Maple Leafs defeat the Florida Panthers 4-3 to set a new franchise record for wins in a season with 46 as well as a team record for wins at home with their 27th in 2017-18.

On March 29th, 1848, ice blockages caused rivers to run dry, and reduced the flow of water to such an extent that Niagara Falls’ 3,160 tons of water per second flow came to a halt. Locals celebrate with Niagara Falls Runs Dry Day, and with plenty of great hotels in the area, it’s not hard to come celebrate with them!
