It was an awesome day. Headed down to see her after work. My sister & her daughter came by & my niece made my Mum's fave dinner, veal parmesan, with pasta & Caesar salad. We all had a great meal with some vino & of course birthday cake. Mum loved it & she was happy that at least half her family could be there to celebrate with her.

The eyes of the world are on Singapore this morning. US President Donald Trump is set to sit down with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Embarking on a self-described “mission of peace,” President Donald Trump puts his seat-of-the-pants foreign policy to its toughest test yet as he attempts this week to personally broker an end to North Korea’s nuclear program in talks with Kim Jong Un. Trump expressed optimism about tomorrow's meeting during a working lunch with Singapore's prime minister and aides to both leaders. During his meeting with Kim, Trump will be pressing the north for a commitment on denuclearization.

Donald Trump’s war of words (and trade) with Justin Trudeau

U.S. President Donald Trump‘s spat with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shows no signs of abetting, with Trump continuing to tweet his annoyance at Trudeau’s response to trade tariffs even after landing in Singapore, where he is due to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Trump and Trudeau have been at odds ever since the United States announced in late May that Canada will no longer be exempt from steel and aluminum tariffs, a decision that Trudeau described as “totally unacceptable.” Canada promptly announced a range of retaliatory tariffs to the tune of $16.6 billion. The issue of trade was the most controversial heading into the G7 summit in La Malbaie, Que., with Trump launching multiple barbs in Canada’s direction in the days leading up to his arrival.
