just got sad news that my rodent just got laid off after a month of working at the law firm. apparently all the back log of work is all cleared up, so since she was the last hired, she is the 1st to go. poor rodent is very disheartened. she really liked working there & had no clue that this was going to happen.

It is (Unfortunately) the Curse of being a Loyal, Dedicated, Hard W*rker.
Ask her to try some Job Agencies. When they find the Good, Hard W*rkers, they tend to keep finding W*rk for them. Many, upon seeing the Quality of the W*rker, will soon Hire them.
Has happened to me several Times in my Past.

Tell her that this is only a Hurdle... not the "end of the Race".

thanx guys. the part that bugs me is, if they only needed someone to fill in for a while, they should have hired a temp or at the very least told her that this was not a permanent job.
