I just watched Celebration Day, twice, and in one word word...WOW!
The one-off 02 show continues to showcase Led Zep as inventive masters and inventors/reinventors of their own music. Plant vocals remain frightenly impressive, Page is an absolute wizard at the ax, JPJ classic bass lines are driven and insane, and young Jason continues to carry the good Bonham name of speed and thunder.
So many highlights. Robert Plant intros Dazed and Confused with "its quite peculiar to imagine how many songs were recorded together but to think about creating a dynamic evening choosing something from ten different albums, there are certain songs that have to be there and this is one of them." Its true, and the 16 tracks they revisit are a gift. Kashmir the concert highlight is getting tons of airplay on Q. I only wished they played Over the Hills, Levee, Ocean, Goin to California.
These discs are going to get a lot of airplay in my home over the holiday season and beyond.
Thank you again Hammer of the Gods!
