good evening all, wish this damn cold would take off. tomorrow will try cold fx, someone told me it works. what a day my mother called me from northern alberta and tried to talk me into moving out there, then she said it was - 15. needless to say when i told her the temp here she knew she was wasting her time.

Something to consider investing your time for the next 10 days:
Captain Trevor Greene is an army reservist who was struck in the head with an axe in Afghanistan in March 2006. He suffered a massive brain injury and was not expected to live. He was evacuated to a military hospital in Germany where medical personnel were able to stabilize him. Transferred to the Vancouver General Hospital, doctors believed that he would never come out of his coma. Defying all odds, he regained consciousness and has made a slow but steady recovery. He is now able to stand but cannot walk.

Aviva Canada is an insurance company which has a $1,000,000 fund that provides cash for communities to build things like skateboard parks or animal shelters or community centres. The ideas are posted online and people can vote for the fund that they wish to receive a portion of the money. This year, a fund has been started to provide Captain Greene with an exo-skeleton which will allow him to be able to walk around his home.

The awarding of the cash is determined by the online voting. Some of the other funds for which people are voting include things like a shelter for homeless cats, and a skateboard park, and a hospital for Georgian Bay turtles. While these are certainly worthy endeavours, I think that providing a Canadian soldier the ability to walk again is more important.

Please take two minutes to register online and vote for Captain Greene. Your vote will determine whether or not Trevor can walk with his daughter again.

i personally would love to vote as i am exmilitary but i dont use facebook, i like some privacy and found to much nonsense on facebook. its a shame there are so many things that have to go through facebook in order to be a part of.
