I just got off the phone with my mom in Montreal.
U2 is playing there tonight in the middle of the city at what used to be a race track.
All surrounding stores and restaurants closed because all streets are blocked and
side walks are completely blocked....
Mom said she doesn't recall anything like this before in Montreal

A friend of mine that lives in Montreal posted on her facebook status yesterday trying to sell two tickets for the show (only $50 each). I was about an hour too late seeing it though. Otherwise, I would have taken a road trip and joined her.

Bard is described as "My Old School" in the Steely Dan song of the same name in which Donald Fagen remembers "when you put me on the Wolverine up to Annandale." Some inaccurately perceive the song to associate Fagen with another school—the College of William and Mary — because there is a well known lyric in it where Fagen croons: "wo-oh, William and Mary won't do." Both Fagen and Steely Dan co-founder Walter Becker attended Bard College in the late 60's. Along with 50 other students, both were arrested in a raid on student dorms in 1969 which Fagen believed the school was complicit in and he refused to attend graduation in protest.[19] In "My Old School", Fagen sings he will only return to Bard when "California tumbles into the sea". Just an update: Flights were delayed in Argentina today but at least they were flying. Let's hope that Sunday's flights will be unaffected. She got an e-mail from Air Canada saying that there is a potential for flight to be delayed or cancelled on Sunday and to check with the airport in the morning. I will give you all an update tomorrow as soon as I learn anything new.
