Happy Psunday Q sters,
well today has been a mixture of rain & sun. hoping that's it for the rain for a while & on to the sunshine.
what a great concert event last night. saw Spartacus & she says Hi. her computer is bustacated again, so that is why she has been a no show. Michael While & the Animal House started of the show doing some covers from Bob Marley, the Lovin' Spoonful & Seals & Crofts, all summer type tunes, oh & of course a Zep tune was in there too. the show was stolen by Crush, a Bon Jovi tribute band. they were awesome & did Bon Jovi's debut album Slippery When Wet from start to finish plus a couple of bonus tracks. the lead singer wasn't a ringer for Jon, but i sure wouldn't throw him out of bed for eating crackers. the evening closed with Yankee Rose, VH tribute band, with DLR,(Eliiot) doing his usual showmanship. most of the crowd had left after watching Crush, so there wasn't many left. YR did VH's debut album in it's entirety, plus a couple of bonus tracks, but they weren't on as long as Crush & had to be cut short cause it was after 12. i would definitely recommend seeing Crush & i would see them again.

Today is June 2'nd & is National Cancer Survivors Day. It sure is making me think & I know that "it" has intruded into all of our lives in one way or another. So here's to all the wonderful people who are continuing to survive & to the people that were stolen away; we will never forget you. xxx


You never know what lies around the corner or may lie in wait,
Illnesses endeavour to take over & will even try to dictate,
You examine life in depth & with hope you continue along,
Stories of endurance inspire with a brave nudge to be strong,
You do not live with cancer; “it” tries to live with you,
As “it” is most deserving of a heave-ho & a rather blunt adieu,
The burden & weight of sadness can almost pull down the sky,
For no logic can be grasped & fairness does not apply,
So unkind, unsophisticated & unmannered; such audacity!
We know “it” has no standing when before the ethics committee,
When things like “it” slither into our lives it is a wake up call,
I wish “it” was an app - which no power could ever install!

My dh took the dog for her daily constitutional romp in the field & he noticed her paying close attention to a plastic bag. When he got over there, he said the bag contained a dead 7' snake....why would someone dispose of it like that? There are so many dogs that go for runs there & lots of kids passing thru. I find it disturbing. Our neighbour's son has gone to secure it for disposal.

Very good poem Loocie - was just reading it and it sure gets you thinking......yes IT can slither into our lives when we least expect it - so sorry for people who have had IT invade their lives (my lifelong friend was one who's life IT took) and I'm happy for those who have been able to survive its rath..........

Amy is wanting attention - guess it dosen't help train her when she is scratching at the chair and I pick her up and then proceed to give her a kiss and tell her she's the best!!!! okay, okay I know ..... but she is pretty sweet!!!!! (and she's really not that bad!!!) On another note today in the park whilst at the Blue's fest I saw a guy with his dog up on the hill - when the dog wanted to move away - he yanked very hard on it's leash and then got on top of it trying to scare the poor thing - yeah - Big A - hole!!! anyone would be scared if your on a leash and collar and can't get away and some big jerk is holding you down while yelling at you - well that just wrecked my day!!!!! JERK!!!!


Actually except for that incident the weekend was very good - The Blues Fest down here was great - Friday night with Chuck Jackson and Saturday night with Fathead and Eugene and then today I was there for the whole thing - braved the rain with a big umbrella but made it through!!!! I would have liked to have gone to the SA as well but this festival was so close by and we went out for dinner close by as well so it was hard to do it all - as well I went to the Arts fest around Leslieville during the day - damn I wish I could be two people sometimes and be able to get it all in!!!! I've seen those bands H Team and yes they are good - I'm surprised people left after Crush cause Yankee Rose is good too and they were the head liner - well more or less!!! Anyways, hopefully they will play there again and I'll be there...

I am really enjoying the boat, but it's been a pretty weird spring so far with the weather... The May long week-end was crazy hot (loved it) but the last few week-ends have been crazy... Friday night's storm was scary... we jumped with a lightening strike when the sky turned red (not white).... I thought it would get worse since it was so close, but it got better.... very scary on the water....

Workend for me, but I did have my days off and I'm off again after tomorrow then back but off for the annual MSD night. Can't wait! It rained so no pool got opened this weekend but since someone is off for a few days it may still happen lol.
