    Good Morning, All...

After I Drop-Off the Wife, it will be a Visit to the Clinic.
    Caught my Elbow & Hand between a Skid & a Pump-Truck.
Scraped the Elbow, but Bent Back the Thumb.

Hand & Wrist Ache, so going to have it/them Checked Out.

Did not go Yesterday as we were having Company over for Dinner.

    Priorities... *ow!*

    morning Q sters,
back in Ontario yesterday afternoon. had a great time in Montreal, but the tavelling home was horrendous. there was a tractor trailer that overturned onto the center medium, so the left lane was blocked mto empty the truck so the tow dude could right up. that took an hour to get thru. after that the construction in Belleville had traffic back up for another hour, then of course by those delays, it put back in TO during rush hour, blah. 8 hours on the roads yesterday, smelling the exhaust fumes, yuck. so glad to be home. i love driving, but that was getting ridiculous. sounds like everyone had a great Canada Day

    Congrats Ecat on your award!
Great pics, Kawam. thanx for sharing.
Happy Anniversary to Lee & Hubby!
Hope it's nothing serious, Wolfie. get better soon.
    Hope you're feeling better, 22Hicks

got to work this morning & 3 out of the 4 phones are not working. luckily 1 of the guys is on vacation & his is working, so 2 of them are answering, while the other 2 are bored to tears. the company upgraded the system & installed all kinds of new software, as you can tell it works really well.

    Good morning, everyone.

Have lots of chores to catch up on. Blech. Maybe the brats and I should take one or two (dozen) naps first?

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

THE FOLKS IN OTTAWA HAVE PULLED OFF A BIGGER PONZI SCHEME THAN BERNIE MADOFF EVER DID.

    FYI
Who Died Before Collecting their Government Pension?

This is something I never thought about: the men and women who die BEFORE drawing on their Canada Pension Plan.

Who died before they collected Canadian Pension Plan? (CPP)

KEEP PASSING THIS AROUND UNTIL EVERY ONE HAS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO READ IT... THIS IS SURE SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT!!!!

THE ONLY THING WRONG WITH THE GOVERNMENT'S CALCULATION OF AVAILABLE CPP IS THAT THEY FORGOT TO FIGURE IN THE PEOPLE WHO DIED BEFORE THEY EVER COLLECTED A CPP CHEQUE!!!

    WHERE DID THAT MONEY GO?

Remember, not only did you and I contribute to CPP but your employer did, too. It totalled 15% of your income before taxes. If you averaged only $30K over your working life, that's close to $220,500. Read that again. Did you see where the Government paid in one single penny?

We are talking about the money you and your employer put in a Government bank to insure you and I that we would have a retirement cheque from the money we put in, not the Government. Now they are calling the money we put in an entitlement when we reach the age to take it back. If you calculate the future invested value of $4,500 per year (yours & your employer's contribution) at a simple 5% interest (less than what the govt. pays on the money that it borrows), after 49 years of working you'd have $892,919.98.

If you took out only 3% per year, you'd receive $26,787.60 per year and it would last better than 30 years (until you're 95 if you retire at age 65) and that's with no interest paid on that final amount on deposit! If you bought an annuity and it paid 4% per year, you'd have a lifetime income of $2,976.40 per month.

Another thing with me.... I have two deceased husbands who died in their 50's, (one was 51 and the other one was 59 before one percent of their CPP could be drawn). I worked all my life and am drawing 100% from my own CPP so I am receiving the maximum allowable payment per month. My two deceased husband's CPP money will never have one cent drawn from what they paid into the CPP plan all their lives.

THE FOLKS IN OTTAWA HAVE PULLED OFF A BIGGER PONZI SCHEME THAN BERNIE MADOFF EVER DID.

Entitlement my foot, I paid cash for my CPP! Just because they borrowed the money for other government spending, doesn't make my benefits some kind of charity or handout!!

Remember Senator's benefits? --- free healthcare, outrageous retirement packages, 67 paid holidays, three weeks paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days. Now that's welfare, and they have the nerve to call my CPP retirement payments entitlements?

We're "broke" and the government can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, or Homeless. Yet in the past few years we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile, Turkey, Pakistan, etc, etc, etc. Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!! And they can't help our own citizens !

Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed income' (CPP and OAS) receive no additional federal aid nor do they get any financial breaks, while our government and religious organizations pour hundreds of billions of $$$ and tons of food to foreign countries!

They call CPP an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives, and now, when it's time for us to collect, the government is running out of money. Why did the government borrow from it in the first place? It was supposed to be in a locked box, not part of the general fund.

    Sad isn't it?

Today is National Eat Beans Day & I know you'll all find this thrilling,
Many of you already have your 4 bean dip made & its in the fridge a'chilling',
Kidney Beans & Navy Beans, I'll bet your spoon is waiting,
We all know about the after effects of beans; that needs no translating,
Lima Beans & String Beans were ones I once refused to eat,
& if twittering was available back then, you would have seen my tweet,
Fava Beans are not really beans, but they contain phosphorous & protein,
But if you have Boston Baked or Pork & Beans, stick close to the latrine,
Adzyuki Beans are said to help with weight loss & can be served with rice,
Cannellini Beans are white & said to be the Kidney Beans long lost cousin,
& I wonder if a bean counter, counts their beans by the dozen?
We all have learned that wax beans are not really made of wax,
& have you ever played a game that uses beans instead of Jacks?
Garbanzo Beans & Green Beans can be served in a zingy salad,
& I don't think that Bean Jingle is the bestest ballad?
Jelly Beans & Mexican Jumping beans, sadly do not count,
Will you reveal your favourite bean, as we feel the tension mount,
Happy National Eat Beans Day & it is time to give a cheer,
Now off you go & have a swig of delicious 3 Bean Beer!

Like TO, Montreal is revitalizing their waterfront too, but they're not doing a lot of highrises. they are refacing a lot of older buildings, bringing them up to code & using that space of stores or accomodations. the expo 67 cube housing is condos that really look neat. no windows look onto another unit, so you are completely private while living in a community setting. they are really weird to look at. they have bike, walking/running lanes all over, so it doesn't effect the cars & some streets on the weekend are closed for car traffic for the artist & other venders to sell their wares. there are still some cobble stones streets, but they are few & far between. we stopped for bruch at a little bristro like place that had a tuscany flair. food was excellent. the weather was great too. started off cloudy first thing, but the clouds gave way to sun & it was warm, but not too humid. a nice breeze was always going thru. we stopped by the old house where my grandparents use to live & my mum & aunt when they were young. boy it sure looked small from what i remember, but then i was small then too. the houses are narrow, but long. the old oak tree is still standing in the front yard, but they put stones down on the other side. guess they don't like to cut the grass. the house across the road is for sale & my cousin is checking into maybe buying it. i saw the house i use to live in when i was first born, a quite a quaint little bungalow. my aunt's place still looks like i remember. her gardens are beautiful. she has quite the green thumb. the only rain we had was during the fireworks on Canada Day. when we got to the park, it had just started to lightly rain. the firewordks were amazing & luckily the heavy rain held off untill we were all back in the house. it was a great long weekend.
