I have been eating lunch regularly from a Lebanese sandwich shop in Markham.
They have these intriguing pink pickles.


Turns out they are pickled turnips, with a little beet to produce the neon pink colour.
I found some in a jar, rather disappointing.
So I made some today, we will see how they are in a week or so.

evening Q sters,
been a busy couple of days. it took 2 1/2 hours to drive from Hamilton to Toronto friday night. what a nightmare. but it was all worth it to see Pat Benatar. she put on an excellent show with her husband & the rest of the group. He is an awesome guitar player & she hasn't lost her powerful voice. it was 2 hours of pure fun & joy. the drive home only took an hour.
today was Leathertown festival day & it was an awesome turnout with lots of venders & entertainers. weather worked out well this year unlike the last 2 years, where it rained both days & a lot of people & venders cancelled.
