Hi all it’s been a few weeks. But not good weeks as my dadpassed away last week. We were due to go to the cottage on Aug 11 and thatmorning dad woke up with leg pain and shortness of breath. It was bad enoughthat we called an ambulance. Well my mom reported that he was hyperventilatingand had leg cramps so she told my brother and I to go on holidays he will befine. So we all went to the cottage but checked in every 3 or 4 hours. Bynightfall it was determined that he had a leg infection and the antibioticsshould clear it up. By Monday it wasdetermined that the right lung collapsed. On Tuesday he was on a ventilator and they wehaving a hard with the infection. I was coming down originally for BlackSabbeth on Wednesday so my brother came down with me. On Wednesday we saw himbut he was sedated because of the ventilator, the nurse on duty said it was onthe minimum setting and they we working on the infection, and he lookedfine. On Thursday no change so we wentback up as my other brother, sister and mom would update us after every visit. ByFriday there was no improvement and they we now worried about his kidneys. LateSunday afternoon we boated in to Halliburton and were having a pub meal andpint when I got a call from my mom saying she just talked to the doctor and itdid not look good and could we all meet the next day at five at the hospital. Inshock we went back to the cottage and cried and moped tried a few toasts to himbut went to bed early. My brother and his wife packed up as they were leavinganyways and we left our stuff and came back. The meeting did not go well; liverkidneys are lungs failing, blood pressure low and white cells not reproducing. They figured that if he ever pulled though hewould be on machines the rest of life and more than likely lose his leg. But hetold me, more than once Mark don’t every let be stuck in the hospital on somedam machine. Everyone agreed and by six last Monday the machines were slowedfor just comfortable support. He died at 8:45 with all his family in room. We spendthe time till Thursday arranging a service then went north for two days to clear out ourheads and pick the boat and our stuff up. Yesterday was the service and it was very nice. I went with the happy eulogyroute and tried to put a smile on their faces and I made it all the way tillthe last few lines till I had to catch my breath and wipe the tears. It was I niceservice and I miss his so much all ready. And man does it suck!!!!

I’m back at work today and I was good until I wrote his. Butgenerally have been pretty good. Tonight it’s off to see Sammy and Kim. Hope there’s parking as the EX is on. Section102, Row M Seats 3 and 4 if anybody’s down that way.

I know he hasn't been well this summer, but it still hurst like hell - I know.

If you can, take comfort in the fact that he knew how much you loved him.
His memory will live on in your heart & thoughts for all time.
