Consider that the healing is coming alond relatively quickly !
In the hospital for only a few days? excellent !
My husband was in the ICU for a week before going to a room.
The swallowing of thin liquids such as water took another week or two.
It took a couple to weeks to be able to sit up in a chair for more than 1 hour. They had to use a hoist to get him in and out of bed, as was the case when he was transferred to rehab after a month had gone by. Eventually, he could be helped in and out of bed by 3,2 and then 1 person. There was 4 months in the rehab unit of the hospital, and then on to the nursing home for 2 years.. It wasn't until he actually was brought home from the nursing home, that he started dressing himself, getting in and out of bed by himself, and takin himself to the bathroom in his wheelchair. He is still working on learning to walk with a cane and can do so for the length of the room. But it took 5 months for him to be able to flex and lift his left leg at all, so thisis good.Yes, there have been some falls...It takes a while to get him off the floor since the left arm has not really recoverd at all. I'm still trying to figure out good ways of doing things...

The milestones one reaches in recovery are to be relished & acknowledged. Your husband must have a very strong constitution in the first place. You really do learn by trial and error....also sometimes something that works one time, is not so successful the next time. It is one of the most humbling experiences that a human being can go through. Your dignity has to be content to take a rest on the back burner. When your mobility is compromised & you have to plan how you are going to accomplish simple everyday tasks, you sure need to learn patience.
I truly hope your husband continues his recovery & realizes the strides that he has already made.

Good Afternoon. Hasn’t snowed much in Markham yet. But have to head to curling in the Yonge and Elgin Mills in an hour hope it not to heavy when I leave around 7:00. Playing my wife’s team whose teams is really good and our team has me, who needs a lot more practice. Think were in trouble, not that I’ll tell her that, just keep trash talking right till were shot down in flames.
