A kind of pay it forward java..........."We enter a little coffeehouse with a friend of mine and give our order. While we’re approaching our table two people come in and they go to the counter: ‘Five... coffees, please. Two of them for us and three suspended’ They pay for their order, take the two and leave. I ask my friend: “What are those ‘suspended’ coffees?” My friend: “Wait for it and you will see.” Some more people enter. Two girls ask for one coffee each, pay and go. The next order was for seven coffees and it was made by three lawyers - three for them and four ‘suspended’. While I still wonder what’s the deal with those ‘suspended’ coffees I enjoy the sunny weather and the beautiful view towards the square in front of the café. Suddenly a man dressed in shabby clothes who looks like a beggar comes in through the door and kindly asks ‘Do you have any suspended coffee?’ It’s simple - people pay in advance for a coffee meant for someone who can not afford a warm beverage. The tradition with the suspended coffees started in Naples, but it has spread all over the world and in some places you can order not only a suspended coffee, but also a sandwich or a whole meal. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have such cafés or even grocery stores in every town where the less fortunate will find hope and support? If you own a business why don’t you offer it to your clients… I am sure many of them will like it. Please join

My not so great a day got worse this afternoon. My furnace has stopped working !!! At least Direct Energy said they could come out next Wednesday. B.S. !!!!!

The temp's dropping fast. I guess I should be thankful that it has warmed up some. I can't wait for Lee's Mexican heat, I need Romeo's Florida heat.
I'm NOT a happy camper.

Oh No!!!!! That is not right...Wednesday?? Can you call another company to come in & service your furnace? How can you be without any heat until then?

I hope you have a couple of electric heaters you can use in the meantime.

Just got a call back.
They'll come Monday afternoon, like they're doing me a big favour.
I'm so happy my maintenance contract is with them. WTF !!!
I have one electric heater in the fireplace, so it's not portable, but I also have a real fireplace in the rec room in the basement if needed, & the stove of course.

Here goes my contribution to Caturday. I can't even read aloud without choking laughing ..............JUST WARNING!!!!!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR GIVING YOUR CAT A PILL. FROM A BRITISH newsPAPER

1. Pick up cat and cradle it in the crock of your arm as if holding a baby. Position right forefinger and thumb on either side of cat's mouth and gently apply pressure to cheeks while holding pill in right hand. As cat opens mouth. pop pill into mouth. Allow cat to close mouth and swallow.

2. Retrieve pill from floor and cat from behind sofa. Cradle cat in left arm and repeat process.

3. Retrieve cat from bedroom and throw soggy pill away.

4. Take a new pill from foil wrap, cradle cat in left arm holding rear paws tightly with left hand. Force jaws open and push pill to back of mouth with right forefinger. Holding mouth shut for a count of 10.

5. Retrieve pill from goldfish bowl and cat from top of wardrobe. Call spouse from garden.

6. Kneel on floor with cat wedged firmly between knees, holding front and rear paws. Ignore low growls emitted by cat. Get spouse to hold cats head firmly with one hand while forcing wooden ruler into mouth. Drop pill down ruler and rub cat's throat vigorously.

7. Retrieve cat from curtain rail, get another pill from foil wrap. Make note to buy new ruler and repair curtains. Carefully sweep figurines from hearth and set to one side for gluing later.

8. Wrap cat in large towel and get spouse to lie on cat with it's head just visible from below spouse's armpit. Put pill in end of drinking straw, force cat's mouth open with pencil and blow pill down straw.

9. Check label to make sure pill not harmful to humans, drink glass of water to take taste away. Apply band-aid to spouse's forearm and remove blood from carpet with cold water and soap.

10. Retrieve cat from neighbors shed. Get another pill. Place cat in cupboard and close door onto neck and leave head showing. Force mouth open with dessert spoon. Flick pill down throat with elastic band.

11. Fetch screwdriver from garage and put door back on hinges. Apply cold compress to cheek and check records for last Tetenus shot. Throw t-shirt away and fetch new one from bedroom

12. Call fire brigade to retrieve cat from tree across the street. Apologize to neighbor who crashed into fence while swerving to avoid hitting cat. Take last pill from foil wrap.

13. Tie cat's front paws to rear paws with garden twine and bind tightly to leg of dining table. Fetch heavy-duty pruning gloves from shed. Force cat's mouth open with small spanner. Push pill into mouth followed by large piece of fillet steak. Hold head vertically and then pour pint of water down throat to wash pill down.

14. Get spouse to drive you to emergency room; sit quietly while Dr. stitches fingers and forearm and removes pill remnants from right eye. Stop by furniture shop on the way home to order a new table.


WHAT A LAUGH!!!! Think of this next time you have to give your cat a pill. Happy CATURDAY to all!!!!
