evening Q sters,
well i had a not so pleasant surprise when i got home. i thought it seemed a bit chilly when i walked in, but didn't think much of it. i went to the family room to turn the fireplace on like i always do when i get home & notice the room temp was sitting at 14 degrees. it normally sits at 17-18 degrees. i then went upstairs to check the main thermostat & found it was also sitting at 14 degrees. when i checked the furnace in the basement, i found that it was trying to come on, but it would shut down after a few seconds. i called the fuel company to let them know & have been talking to the repair guy. he thinks it's the venturi motor that is suppose to start up, hit a certain pressure to flip the switch & ignite the fuel to give heat. no pressure, no heat. the repair guy doesn't have a venturi motor on his truck & has been calling around to find one. as it looks, tomorrow will be the earliest that i would hopefully get it fixed, if he procures one, otherwise, it could be monday. the good news, the fireplace works, but it can't heat the whole house. the temp has gone up 3 degrees in 2 hours.

My friend and I are off to a meeting with our local politician. Remember the taxi issue I mentioned before Xmas? We're off to do a demo to paint a better picture of why their decision needs to be rethought. Wish us luck!

When I get back home, I'll be off to my Mom's for the weekend (brats are staying with her, I'm off to the party). I haven't told them yet, let them have a happy surprise. Besides, the neighbours don't need to hear the endless whining of 'when are we going?'.

Should be back by Monday.

Really nice day by the beach today, what a difference a few hours on a plane makes!!! This resort is really nice.
