Attachment 279192Are you sure it isn't the line-up for the bathroom; or is it a carrot chorus line?
Hey Jester - You might want to consider keeping the Miracle-Gro away from your veggie garden!
Calling all Techies .... ADVICE/HELP PLEASE
I need a laptop. Stat.
The hard-drive on my machine failed so took it to a hardware fixer thinking he'd be able to extract my data/files - at least up to the bad sectors. Nope. It was fried right at the beginning. He suggested a "forensic" specialist - who would likely charge upwards of $1,000 - with no guarantee of anything recovered. I'm truly insert really bad word here. (DON'T TALK TO ME ABOUT BACKUPS NOW PEOPLE - THAT HORSE IS LONG GONE).
Decided to channel my stress into finding a new laptop. As my Dell Latitude e5500, circa 2009, had been just fine for my needs until the disk failure, I researched its specs and found a like and similar unit on sale:
HP Envy with IntelCore i5-4210m processor. (Say again all after "IntelCore". I have no idea what that means).
Is this a good machine? Do you know of anything similar but better? I'd love to say price is no object ... but there was a reason I was looking at the sale flyers. However, in the long run I'd rather be pound wise, as it were, so I'd be willing to look at a (marginally) more expensive option.
Side notes, to complete the picture:
* I look to electonics for utlity and business functionality; I am not a gamer.
* I subscribe to the "if it ain't broke" philosophy; to wit, my Dell was running XP.
* I know squat about laptops.
* I am thankful I got this tablet a while back, else I couldn't post this cry for help!!
