As long as you can avoid these:
In all seriousness we know firsthand the pain associated with dislocations. My wife is still in a fair amount of discomfort and limited range of motion from her shoulder injury. She continues to work with the fizio 2 or 3 times a week.
Hoping you’re able to regain your mobility and comfort soon Hicks

Hicks just glad you are back! Sorry to hear about the hip though. Take it easy and enjoy a nice cold one in the back yard!
Feeling unknown and you're all alone, flesh and bones by the telephone,
lift up the receiver, I'll make you a believer!
Take second best, put me to the test, things on your chest, you need to confess!
I will deliver, you know I'm a forgiver!

Well, I'm back from New Orleans and what a good time we had!!! As usual wish I could still be there, always hate holidays ending........at the time we went it was so popular with the festival and and weather that adding more days would have added up to quite a bit......we did snag another night at any Hyatt in the world whenever we want because they moved us after one night and a little complaining went a long way - we get the extra night plus they gave us $80 to spend at their little snack bar which had drinks and food so we took a couple of nice lunches out to a park (spinach salads, flatbread with artichoke, mushrooms, cheese etc.) Also we didn't get a wake up call on our last day (it was okay because we had set something else) I mentioned it downstairs and they paid our taxi to the airport! That was great because I was planning to take a local bus (2) for $2 each but it would have taken quite a bit longer!
New Orleans is a lot free and easier than here that's for sure. You can walk around with a drink of anything in the city and no one cares - if I did that here I'd be charged! Found a local store that charged $1.99 for a small bottle of wine and $2 for a big can of beer and you could drink it when you walked around or sat in the park.
Gotta go now but feeling like I usually do when I get back from a holiday ............ not that great - just love checking new places out...........

ecat, welcome back. glad you had such a great time.
I want to thank you all. The morphine & lots of pillows help.
In answer to all the questions, most of you know, but:
I have a number of back issues: spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, ruptured & herniated discs, sciatica, significant nerve damage, & arthritis. The arthritis has spread to my S.I. joints (sacral iliac) and occasionally they cannot support my hips / pelvic bones. Anyhow, while I was sleeping, a spasm jerked me awake. When I jumped, the left pelvic bone dislocated.
Painful is an understatement. They administer morphine, have 4 staff hold you down while the doctor grabs hold of the bone, pulls it out, twists it, then puts it back in place. They then wrap you tight for 24 hours. Believe me, the pain meds had very little effect. I think I did some screaming, at least a little. I'm on morphine @ home too.
Oh well, the worst is over - I think / hope.
My son has Jake for awhile. I miss him, but I can hardly move, so I can't look after him.
Again, thank you all for your well wishes.
