Happy Caturday, Q sters,
Thanx for the RSPWs.
A nice sunny day out. going to get my hayfield cut & the house ready for open house, then spend the rest of the afternoon out with friends & hit the local pub for some eats & music tonight. Have a great day & enjoy the weather.
Happy Saturday everyone-I'm off to the laundromat (what a glamorous life I lead) Still have not replaced the washing machine and honestly dont know when I am going to make time to pick one out!
Andi, hope you feel better soon and what a lovely itinerary for the cruise you took, must have been terrific!
Any one have a suggestion for a good place to eat in Yorkville or surrounding area that wont break the bank? Like, seriously good eats that are priced like bad eats?
I am not very familiar with the restaurants in Yorkville. Do you like Italian?

It is a sunny Saturday so far. I hope it continues.

I have seen the Veendam as well as her sister ship the Ryndam, while I was on other ships. I have never been on any of those "Dam" ships on Holland America. We have been on Carnival, Princess and Norwegian.
Your itinerary sounds wonderful. I thought they only had those cruises in the fall. Perhaps I should look at that one. Right now I am looking at a Pacific Coastal cruise out of San Francisco, but I am only thinking about it at this point.
Porter Airlines is a decent airline. The one and only time I flew with them was when I won that trip to New York to see Lynyrd Skynyrd and Doobie Brothers from Q107 almost 4 years ago. It was a good flying experience for my wife and I.
Anyhow, thanks for showing us the itinerary. I'll take a look at it. Maybe we will take one of those "Dam" ships after all. Oh wait, my wife says I am a 19 year old stuck in a 50 year old body. I think I am too young to go on the Veendam. At least at 19, I can still go to the beer store.
Good morning fellow Canucks!
Thanks for the 8:00 password this morning. I didn't realize Q would continue this contest on the weekend. I know they have in the past. Maybe I am just scatter-brained. Its nothing that a Tim Hortons can't fix. Perhaps I should go out and get some.
Have a great day folks!
Good morning my Q friends. Happy Caturday
Good morning, everyone. :)
Still have the dizzy brain syndrome here, can't do much of anything but drink lots of fluids and sleep off this darn cold. Blech. I hate being sick! :(
Poor Lily dog misses having someone to play with and Quincy cat is a wee bit too heavy to pick up in my dilapitated state. Hoping today is not another day of nodding off in the middle of reading or writing on the computer. Took me 2 hours to type a note on here yesterday cause I kept falling asleep.
Off to take another nap with the brats...if I can make it to the sunny spot. ;)
Hope everyone has a wonderful day. :)
Andi, I hope you are feeling better really soon. Being under the weather is no fun at all.
Maybe you can get your wife to vouch for you at one of the bars on the ship? Or hang out on the smoking deck and get to know the bartenders. ;)
The East Coast cruises are spring and fall (fall is a bit more, looking at the pretty colours of changing leaves enact a high price :P). I'm leary of Carnival - seems like too many teeny boppers on those ships. I'm all for partying, but don't want to deal with drunken teenagers (the tipsy war veterans were much more fun to listen to on the Veendam ;)).
As for Porter, I LOVE Porter. No muss, no fuss. No waiting in endless lines to deal with customs - we were through in minutes (we were one of the last flights in). And you can't beat the view while waiting for your flight (not to mention the free cappucino/espresso/latte or juice or whatever you wish as well as cookies/almonds/snacks). Oh & even more fun is having wine (we asked for OJ to make mimosas) on a morning flight. :P
