This was my monthly puzzle for August on the Mensa Canada website. I will give you the answer once it is posted. Let`s see if Smart Canucks are smarter than those other smartie pants...

This year, August starts on a Monday. Some people hate Mondays and can’t wait for Monday to end; but poor, unfortunate, much-maligned Monday is really just another day of the week.

Question: How long does each ‘Monday’ last?

....geeze....well, that sucks.....it brings out the evil that is in my DNA.....I would have to treat her to the same kinda b/day....some people don't know how crappy their actions are, till they experience it back....yeah, yeah, forgive and forget....nah, I'm definitely an "eye for an eye" person.....mwahahaha!!!..TR

makes you feel any better, rockit, Bell is no better. i have 1 of their turbo sticks & the stick keeps overheating & cutting the connection, when & if i can find a signal. drives me crazy at home. i've already replaced it once & now going for number 2. yet i also have a compaq mini with the built in connection from Rogers & it doesn't matter where i am in the house or on vacation & it works great. i got Bell's stick 3 months before the Rogers. got tired of not getting any internet where i live. the best part is when i do plug in the Bell stick, i have gotten a Roger's signal on it. i think it might just be where we live in approximation from Roger's or Bell's signals.

Morning!!

I had a scheduled "work remote" day today - which is good because it will afford me a little time to ponder a business discussion I had with the powers that be yesterday.

Great News for the Company - call it venture capital, private equity investment or just expanding the partner base, seems as though our little company will be getting an influx of much needed new funds in the next little while.

Bad News for Argo - typically, a prerequisite to providing those funds is a degree of operating control and a say in business decisions. Depending on how active the investor wishes to be, this could be in a pure oversight role (think board of directors) or they may wish to have a hands-on, active, day-to-day operational role. Why is that bad news for me? Because we are a small firm, and if an active role were to be played by the new partner, they could only be parachuted into one of three positions - one of which is mine. Given that the other two positions are held by people who share the same last name and are both partners themselves, the only available senior management position is mine.

The party line is that a decision has not yet been made regarding the role the new individual will take. However, my gut says otherwise.

I think my "to-do" list for today just got reordered.

Unfortunately her B-day is 2 weeks before mine. I surprised her by setting up the babysitter, took her out to the movies and then dinner at The Keg. Eh, it ain't much, but when we have 3 boys under the age of 7, a grown up night out without kids was the way to go I thought.
