We use Bell and Telus Turbo sticks at work.. the sale guys do.
They have never had any issues
Could be the H-Team got a lemon(?)

hmm. good to know. i was looking at possibly getting a bell turbo stick to use at the cottage ... but overheating? guess i'll look at the ipad again.
anyone have any comments good or bad about the ipad?

Neat game thanks BabyGirl1, took a few attempts but I found the trick is to stay well ahead of the cat making a wide enclosure to box and close in on the feline.

this would be lemon #2. we're waiting for the 3rd to show up. hopefully this will fix it. i think it has to do with where the cell towers are placed for each provider. i think that i'm just outside of range for the Bell signal. have tried the Bell wireless modem & it doesn't even register, but my cell phone works most times.

if you're in most towns, the signal for either Bell or Roger's is good & you can use either, but once out of the city, you have to know where the cell towers are for each provider so you can get the service for your area. seems like i'm in the middle, with no ETA on anything coming closer yet.

If you want an ipad.... go for it.. one excuse is as good as the next.

My mother in law just got back from Vegas, and bought herself an ipad there!
My one sister in-law is a teacher, head of guidance and she was given an ipad
to use. They have been playing real time scrabble on it together as they live in different cities. She was tired of lugging her laptop around...She is 84!

makes you feel any better, rockit, Bell is no better. i have 1 of their turbo sticks & the stick keeps overheating & cutting the connection, when & if i can find a signal. drives me crazy at home. i've already replaced it once & now going for number 2. yet i also have a compaq mini with the built in connection from Rogers & it doesn't matter where i am in the house or on vacation & it works great. i got Bell's stick 3 months before the Rogers. got tired of not getting any internet where i live. the best part is when i do plug in the Bell stick, i have gotten a Roger's signal on it. i think it might just be where we live in approximation from Roger's or Bell's signals.

If using a Laptop, is the USB Port by Chance next to the Cooling Fan?
That area tends to get Hot in General.
When I use my Thumb Drive in that Slot, I find it Hot within minutes {Insert Joke Here}.
The Notebook I use have other USB Ports located "elsewhere", ie in the back on the opposite side of the Cooling Fan.

had it checked out last year around this time & they fixed 1 of the usb ports cause it wasn't picking up anything at all. it was still under warranty then. may take it in again this month, just for a check.

Ma Bell told me the 1st time i had it replaced that there was a problem with them, but it had been corrected. apparently for a short while anyways. we will see how long 3 goes for.

Personally, I jumped the gun and entered my Q Birthday Code back in January. However, those waiting for your own very special day to enter it might want to rethink that - given the pending dissolution of the points system.

Just as a Curiosity...
After using your Laptop for a bit, unplug the mouse and feel the connector. Is it warm or hot?
