Tornado Touches Down In Ontario Village Amid Severe Weekend Storms
Weather experts say a tornado ripped through a southwestern Ontario community Sunday.
Environment Canada has issued a statement that says the violent winds of up to 220 kilometres per hour occurred in Teviotdale, northwest of Kitchener.
It says the tornado left about nine kilometres of damage in its wake, including destroying the exteriors of two homes, ripping through barns, wrecking cars and downing both trees and power lines.

Air Canada Bans Shipments of Hunting Trophies
Air Canada says it will no longer transport big-game hunting trophies - lions, leopards, elephants, rhinoceros and water buffaloes - after the killing of Cecil the lion drew international attention.
The killing of Cecil the lion by a Minnesota dentist in early July cast a spotlight on trophy hunting and sparked a social media outcry.
Air Canada joins at least a half dozen other airlines that have banned the transportation of big-game trophies in the past two weeks, including Air France, Delta Air Lines and Qantas.
New Poll Shows NDP Support Climbing Towards Majority
Thomas Mulcair’s New Democrats are continuing to increase their lead, according to a new poll by Forum Research. The survey found that 39% of respondents said they would vote for the NDP.
The poll, which was conducted immediately after the election was called Sunday morning, found 28% of of respondents said they will vote Conservative, while 25% said they will vote for the Liberals.
