Well it's finally Friday of a long weekend, the last long weekend of summer. Guess who's working? Moi! Nothing new there. Oh well, at least i get 2 days off in a row & a 4 day work week next week.

OPP Looking For Distracted Drivers In Long Weekend Blitz

The OPP say they will be out on the roads this long weekend, looking for distracted drivers. Officers will be enforcing new legislation that now carries a $490 fine and 3 demerit points for distracted driving. 41 deaths have been attributed to distracted driving on OPP patrolled roads this year and police say the number of crashes caused by distracted drivers is up 20% compared with this time last year.

PC Leader Patrick Brown Wins Byelection in Simcoe North

Ontario Progressive Conservative Leader Patrick Brown has won a seat in the Ontario legislature following the Simcoe North byelection. The seat was previously held by longtime PC MPP Garfield Dunlop, who resigned this summer so Brown could run.Brown was elected PC Leader in May and resigned his federal seat in the Barrie riding

Judge Overturns Brady's Suspension, NFL to Appeal

A judge let the air out of "Deflategate" Thursday, erasing New England quarterback Tom Brady's four-game suspension for a controversy the NFL claimed threatened football's integrity. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the league will appeal.
