Finally back home from lunch (really yummy burger joint on Yonge, north of Mel Lastman Sq).
So, for anyone who wants to get together tomorrow at Sugar Beach, how is 1ish? I can bring potato salad & cucumber salad. & some sort of dessert (I'm thinking pineapple steeped in vodka or virgin pineapple for those who don't want to partake ). I can also bake something or other (something healthy? like crepes with mandarin segments inside?).
So...who's in?
Latest on the weather is rain/t-storms late evening (I'm assuming we'll be gone by then? or not ). The Corus building is open cause of Doors Open. We can also go a few blocks north to the St Lawrence Antique Market to hang out & take over the building (& hide from the rain).
Cross your fingers the weather cooperates. If it's really yucky, I won't bring the short one along (don't think he'll bother anyone in his purse, but ya never know) & we can do some of the Doors Open events (corus Bldg, Redpath, etc).

I'm in but do you know how I get from Union station to Sugar Beach...well the easiest route.... I don't know what I'll bring as Hubbie got called into work so no car to get Groceries... I can figure this out in the wee hours when he gets home.
All sounds good to me I am just going with the flow!!! I'll just check the train schedule and I'm good to go.

On the east side of Union Station (on Bay St), you can catch the Bay bus (I think it's the 6 bus) going southbound. It's about a 5 minute ride to Jarvis & Queen's Quay (beside the big Loblaws). Get off at that stop, then cross the street. You'll see the whale mural on the Redpath building in front of you, as well as Sugar Beach (pretty pink umbrellas). The Corus bldg is just the other side of Sugar Beach.

Thanks, I ve been to the Corus building but was sure of what bus or streetcar... I just checked the weather network and they say it's supposed to rain all day with thunderstorms.. Better bring extra umbrellas.
So are they have an open house for the new digs??? or the American Holiday?...LOL That would be worth a peek, the buliding is really nice inside. I love the wall of TV's.... hey, maybe we can get some cool Q swag!!!!!
Oh P.S. The hubs just called, he won't be home till midnight, So I may have to pick something up Downtown, I'll never have the time to get to the store in the morning get stuff ready and get down there. So if we go to St. Lawrence Market thats greatLast edited by maggierocks; Sat, May 28th, 2011 at 06:44 PM.

It's part of Doors Open Toronto:

Not sure if the food part of the market is open (wth would a tourist place be open on a Sunday when tourists might be there, eh?), but the Antique mkt bldg is open. The Loblaws has some really yummy take-out food. Good thing it's a smidge too far for me to walk, or I'd be in a lot of trouble.

I hear you My daughter works part time at Loblaws and yes they have some yummy stuff. The Loblaws out here is 1 hrs walk for me. So I'm safe too. Public transit in this town is pretty well non existant!!! I could go 5 min. up the street and ask The Bowmanville ZOO to give me a ride there on a camel or an elephant!!!! That would be faster..but I would hate to be the pooper scooper
