    twas the week before christmas
    and all through the house
    everything was stirring
    even the @#!@# mouse
    my socks were hung to let them air
    just sitting here waiting like you care
    the noisey buggars were in their beds
    all that sugar affecting their heads
    and the old lady in her housecoat and curlers and me in my cap
    has just settled down, to the drip of the tap
    when out on the lawn there rose such a clatter
    them damn neighbours always something a matter
    away to the window i did run
    and out the window went the gun
    the moon on the breast of the new fallen snow
    gave the lustre of mid-day on the morons below
    when what to my bloodshot eyes did appear
    but my neighbour stealing my sleigh and reindeer
    with a little old driver so lively and quick
    i knew right away it was that fool Slick
    and out of the shotgun there came such a flame
    he whisted and shouted and called out my name
