Good morning, everyone.

Another busy day, followed by a little culture tonight (I'm off to the opera).

Have to go make breakfast for the brats.

Sam Sniderman, best known as the co-founder of Sam the Record Man store has died.

In 1937, Sniderman partnered with his brother Sid and opened a small record store on College Street in Toronto.

Together they built a chain of Sam the Record Man stores that opened across the country.

A major promoter of Canadian music, Sniderman received the Order of Canada in 1976. He was also inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1997.

He opened his ship store on Toronto's Yonge Street in 1959. The iconic store with its huge flashing neon record signs closed in 2007, seven years after he retired.

Surrounded by loved ones, Sniderman passed away in his sleep Sunday night at the age of 92.

Many years ago..could never visit the big city without a stop at Sam`s to pick up my one hit wonder.
Rest in peace.

tonight after work all of us here in Hamilton have to make the trek to Cambridge for a "company" meeting. oh yippee, i'm so thrilled. this will be where the "law" is set on "how" things are to be done by "everyone" so we're all on the same page & probably find out the fate of the 3 employees that were laid off. i'm hoping that business has picked up to enable them to return to work. enjoy your tuesday & warmer temps.

I turned the heat on at work today for a little bit... I gave in to long pants, but I'm not giving in to socks and closed toe shoes yet!!!

been wearing long pants since the beginning of September & unless they make "steel-toed" work sandals, the only sandals i saw was usually on Sunday's or another day off i had. i wish

went 2 see Slash on sunday it was a real good show, he omly played a few G N R songs. His stuff I found was real bluesy.

Bacon, pork shortage 'now unavoidable,' industry group says

Might want to get your fill of ham this year, because "a world shortage of pork and bacon next year is now unavoidable," according to an industry trade group.
Blame the drought conditions that blazed through the corn and soybean crop this year. Less feed led to herds declining across the European Union “at a significant rate,” according to the National Pig Assn. in Britain.
And the trend “is being mirrored around the world,” according to a release (hat tip to the Financial Times).
In the second half of next year, the number of slaughtered pigs could fall 10%, doubling the price of European pork, according to the release.
The trade group urged supermarkets to pay pig farmers a fair price for the meat to help cover the drought-related losses.
In U.S. warehouses, pork supply soared to a record last month, rising 31% to 580.8 million pounds at the end of August from a year earlier, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The surge came as farmers scaled down their herds as feeding the animals became increasingly expensive.

Hi. Friday night I found out that my co-worker had died. It was quite the shocker, thought I was handling it pretty good till I walked in this morning and saw his empty office then it hit pretty hard. Going to be thought to be in this small office without him, he will be missed!

My condolences KN - the empty office is a cruel reminder I'm sure, but also, a way to remember.
