Tonight, I would like to say "Thank goodness for Smoke Detectors"!!!!

Our whole family was eating dinner tonight when one of the smoke detectors went off.... my first thought that it was the one in our main hallway outside the kitchen that often goes off when I have the oven on but I didn't use the oven tonight....

We all ran upstairs and I could smell something burning in my son's room... he immediately unplugged his computer (that he just re-built a few nights ago) but we couldn't find where the "burn" smell was coming from... hubby noticed that there was a light bulb off in the ceiling fan light and we noticed that the light bulb literally started burning... (it was one of those curly florescent bulbs)....

Years ago, when our kids were little, we went to a "fire awareness" presentation (I think at their school) and they recommended a smoke detector in every bedroom in addition to one on each floor... Since then, we have followed their recommendations, and tonight, I am so thankful that we did....

in Pyrex dishes. Seemed to match his leather skirt quite well , I thought,
especially at a benefit concert with millions of kids looking on.

Glad you explained. I had no idea. How inappropriate !! And what's with the skirt ??

I thought the concert was awesome, EXCEPT for Kayne. He was awful !!

Glad I stuck around though; the next few performances were worth the wait.

it is cooler out this morning. we had a bit of frost, but not heavy like up Attitash's way.
the concert was great. where else can you find a concert that has all those great acts? well most of them anyways in the rock world.

Good morning, everyone.

Up early, have a busy day ahead of me. Today. my neighbour and I get to prep some food for our condo Xmas party - I get to prep the food, she's going to cook it (I only cook for critters ). Tomorrow, I get to decorate the room while my neighbour finishes off the food prep. Sigh. It's a lot of work, but the last time we had volunteers "help", all we got was whining that things should be done *their* way.

Critters are still in bed. I'm being serenaded by a snoring cat.

121212 Concert last night was pretty awesome except for Kanye - Turned it over to Sportsdesk and watched Basketball highlights - They were a little more interesting...Raptors lost again.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of my Mother's passing. I miss her warmth & presence more & more. I even miss her unwelcomed advice & opinions. There will always be an empty space in me that only she could fill. She was funny, very sentimental, a not so great cook, a fabulous dancer, an animal lover & she was my Momma! I never realized how brave she was until I started living some of the experiences she endured. Some of my favourite memories of her were at our family cottage. She taught me to to swim & used to blow up those stinky old air mattresses so I could float around on a lazy summer day.

Love you Mom....always & forever.
