I know-me too! I almost cried when I saw that beautiful basket Natalka, reminds me of my Baba and how she tried so hard to instill in us the traditions. Every year she would have a basket blessed and then lay out on the goods on the table and then explain what it all symbolized. She taught me so much in the kitchen and it is precious experience that I hope to pass along too. One thing I loved was making paska with her and I think I am going to have to teach that to my kids-it was so fun to work with the dough!

Oh me, oh my Loocie wants pie. I'll take a slice upon my plate, please get me one, I cannot wait. I like pie with a spot of tea or a even a with a sip of brandy is also spiffy. Peach pie is at the top of my list I once ate a slice in the Irish mist. Rhubarb also is yum-a-delic I would like to share a slice with mr Tom Selleck..... You get the idea. They look heavenly!!!

I used to make pysanky, Ukrainian Easter eggs, but I haven't in years - trouble with my hands, so I've had to give up a lot of crafting.
Here are some I've made in the past -

I'm really bummed because my bro never phoned to ask me to Easter dinner. He still hasn't called what a JERK!!! Karma will bite him in the butt one day. I really don't have a family other than you my Q family and some Queen St. family, sort of sad. I don't want a pitty party just want to be wanted and loved. Haven't felt that since the love of my life passed. It will be 9 years May 24 he has gone to a better place I hope. Peace and Love to all of you. You are so lucky to have family.

Well, I'll tell you it was a help to marry a Ukrainian man - then the traditions are definitely easier to continue (not saying one can't do it otherwise, though). Some of my husband's traditions are different than mine and how I grew up - he's Rusyn (no, not Russian, it's also known as Ruthenian), from Yugoslavia - so we've tried to always include both.

But, it's never too late to revive traditions in your families, either!

Seems like spring might finally be on its way (yes, a month late) - we have robins! Plus, the snow is melting again!
    Enjoy the week!
