Have you ever been the leader of a conga line to get a party roaring?
Have you ever played Parcheesi or maybe Chinese Checkers?
Did your mother ever send you out to buy a jug of milk from Beckers?
Did you ever walk to the next bus stop cause you just got tired of waiting?
& did you ever go to the terrace for a night of roller skating?
Do you remember using foolscap when your teacher gave a test?
& if you had multiple choice style answers, you had to take a guess?
Do you remember workbooks & did you use MacMillan spellers?
& did your class ever get interrupted by the boys considered naughty fellers?
Remember double spacing your essay & indenting paragraphs?
Did you ever have to write out lines like “I will not talk in class”?
Remember games at recess like dodge ball & four square?
& after school did you ever play a game of truth or dare?
Remember the NFB movies that were a reprieve from the usual grind?
& did you always do all your homework in the way it was assigned?
Did you ever make paper mache masks or sketch with india ink?
& did your class have a picture of the Queen & a stainless steel sink?
Do they still perform experiments & do they still use Bunsen burners?
Do you ever miss the days when we were eager little learners?

Good Morning. Wow it had been a while since I had seen Nash the Slash. I had forgotten he was at The Who/ Heart show at the CNE till John mentioned this morning. That was a great day. To get our booze in we poured a 40oz of vodka in the bottom of the cooler and dumped the ice in, then had the bottles on orange juice on top. They let the cooler in but not the bottles, but they helped us dump the bottles in the bottom of the cooler. One giant screwdriver.

took me a minute or more to remember some
of those remembrances,
did like playing chinese checkers with my mom,
she had a great board, not sure when it ended up,,
hmm when we got back from a trip to nova scotia,
(when i was in highschool)
i was desperate for a joint so offered to go to becker's
with a friend, got frostbite, the milk, which according
to the joint i didn't notice.
yup did walk a bit waiting for the bus.

took me a sec or so to remember how lovely the
foolscap looked, except what was expected.
as for some of the other remembers, i was the 'naughty one'
in high school i put tacks on friends chairs, yikesy so nasty
pulled the fire alarm a lot and had the key that turned off the lights,
hall by hall and the rooms therein.
a guy had a crush and so found one for me.

sadly gordon died going back to university in ottawa on
his motorcycle, such a nice person, and was
engaged.
i only had one guy interested in me in grade school
and high school, and that was gord.
he gave me his james taylor book
