Septic update---
This excellent young guy came out and used all kinds of fancy equipment to confirm a section of the pipe from our house to the septic was frozen and showed us exactly how much is frozen too with a quote of $3500. I looked up on line how to unthaw frozen cast iron septic pipes and you would not believe all the creative ways that exist!!! Mark is taking the day off work and our neighbor is coming by with his Kubota excavator a little later to dig the area and then I am not sure if they will be able to unthaw it or if he will need to cut it out and replace it. Turns out our neighbor used to do septics in Russia and is all over this "project"! Country life at its finest-reminds me of the old show Green Acres!

BTW - don't pay anything to unthaw the pipe, only to unfreeze it!

Splinters In Crotch

A woman from Los Angeles who was a tree hugging, liberal and an anti-hunter

purchased a piece of timberland near Colville , WA . There was a large tree

on one of the highest points in the tract. She wanted a good view of the

natural splendor of her land so she started to climb the big tree. As she

neared the top she encountered a spotted owl that attacked her. In her haste

to escape, the woman slid down the tree to the ground and got many splinters

in her crotch. In considerable pain, she hurried to a local ER to see a

doctor. She told him she was an environmentalist, a Democrat, and an

anti-hunter and how she came to get all the splinters.

The doctor listened to her story with great patience and then told her to go

wait in the examining room and he would see if he could help her. She sat

and waited three hours before the doctor reappeared. The angry woman

demanded, "What took you so long?" He smiled and then told her, "Well, I had

to get permits from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Forest Service,

and the Bureau of Land Management before I could remove old-growth timber

from a 'recreational area' so close to a waste treatment facility. I'm

sorry, but due to Obama-Care they turned you down."

I went to see American Sniper the other night. Really good movie, Bradley Cooper did a good job portraying Chris Kyle. Lots of action. Such a horrible ending for him after going through 4 tours and coming back home to stay this time only to be killed by a guy he knew. He was only helping the guy out for the afternoon and gets shot and killed by him, after all the battles he went through to have it all end like that............and his poor family, the stress his wife must have gone through everytime he went away........

I'm reading the book as well......
