If you have a cloudy film after washing, try Lemi-shine. I tried all kinds of different detergents and was ready to think my dishwasher just needed replacing, but a little bit of this stuff in with your detergent is AMAZING.

I buy whatever is on sale, and does a good job.

I tested the Finish Quantum last night on a serious bit of dish dirt! My mom cooked a ham in one of my Pyrex pans, with a brown sugar/mustard glaze. Normally I'd put foil in the bottom to catch all this. The fat and sugar poured off into the pan, left a thick black slick.

I scooped out the fat and scraped off the heavier junk on the pan. Then I put it in the dishwasher, put a tablet in and hoped for the best.

    Result?

    Fail!

While the lighter gunk came off, the heavier stuff...nope. It's still soaking in the sink. Not sure if any would have done any better, but I think that none do what's advertised!

I dunno. I've been using Cascade Complete powdered detergent and it seems to do OK, although I absolutely have to use Jet Dry or one of the other rinse agents. I have one of those 2-drawer dishwashers so the pods don't work for me.

I had a portable one I got rid of before I moved.

I used the Finish pacs with the power ball in them.

My new dishwasher seems to accept it mostly. I only have issues when my kids do a bad job at sorting and rinsing.

Basic gets washed, everything else is hand washed and dried.

I like Finish all in one. It's more or less okay. Haven't find anything better yet

How ironic that I see this thread today because just yesterday I was thinking 'should I continue using the tablets, or switch to powder?'

I currently use Finish Powerball tablets (from Costco) and maybe 30% of the time I find little particles on the dishes after a full cycle. I even tried playing around with the different settings on the dishwashers, and even do an empty-cleaning cycle every two months roughly with white vinegar, and then another cleaning cycle with just 1 cup of baking soda.

Previously I used the Kirkland brand, and found that worse which is why I switched to Finish Powerball.

Looks like I might have to switch to Cascade All In One Action Paks once this box runs out.
