good grief! I just saw the post you made about leeks today! ha ha Sadly though they're not on my radar.
Most times I use regular yellow onions, Vidalia when they go on sale and are in season, green onions for
so many things and recently I tried pearl onions. Quite a pain to peel but so cute when I cut them in half
and put into the meat pie mixture.

Do I EVER know that transition! NO sugar on stuff I used to sprinkle liberally in, on and over!
The initial shock of the absence of sweet can be actually refreshing, same goes for salt.
Then over time what happens is you REALLY taste how horrible processed items are with the
high amounts of both sugar and salt in them. Restaurant meals become a real letdown.

I am eating 3 scrambled eggs atm. Nothing else. Lots of black pepper. I fell asleep till about 8:30 so I missed the start of the game.

OMG!! We are so stuffed BUT it all went better than i had hoped. Everyone helped bring out the various hot dishes, bowls
to the dining table.
Our guests ( all relatives ) were so adventurous regarding the various casserole style mixtures I had made.
4 of them left by Uber about 30 minutes ago but our eldest son decided to stay with us a bit longer, he'll Uber his way
solo back to the downtown T.O. core.
I was thrilled that he allowed us to make him up a healthy portion of foods ( his doggy bag ), saves me tempted eating my
way through it all week. I indulged on everything from wine, dinner and dessert and regret nothing.
Tomorrow I'm back on my diet.

aw shucks! I'm red as a beet! Uh oh, I forgot to boil the darn beets for the dinner this afternoon! Look at the time I'm up at....too excited to sleep more than 2 hours at a time. good grief!

You will be the first to know that when I weighed myself this morning I'm officially TWENTY pounds down from that Sept 6th post!!
It seemed like 5 days in a row that scale never moved and then BOOM! 2 pounds less today! They do say losing 2 pounds a week is o.k.
I have quite a ways to go though....ha ha

oh I feel your pain and regret at eating some take out food. We always get fooled into thinking it's a great and we're special and deserve it. The tummy upset and sometimes the headache the next day make it so real. We are the same! Eventually you'd think we'd become one of those wise people we keep hearing about. ha ha

I never saw these 2 entries of yours till now! So to start with I FINALLY got the email with a special code that I had to enter into my Scene+ account. NOT the site where you see your offers but rather the actual Scene+ members site. I entered the code which I got to from a drop down menu ( the email tells you where to find the spot to enter the code ) and VOILA! I was instantly deposited 1,000 Scene points in my account. I've since trashed all the screengrabs and stuff but I remember this offer goes until Oct 20th, so lots of time left to spend that Dollar! lol.
It was hidden in the T & C, which I had to click to read through....grrr! Hope you get the " easy " 1,000 points.

great AM strategy! As you may recall I no longer seek out AM much since I don't usually grocery shop at Metro and now I buy my fuel from Petro Can instead of Shell. Funny thing though, I wanted to load car washes onto my card and at Shell they had a buy 5 get 1 wash free promo ( total came to $62.00! ) but then I saw they deposited 85 AM in my account. 50 with any car wash, 25 for the Flex pass and 10 more for car washes or in store purchases. Hey that is 85 more AM than I had yesterday! ha ha

you know that work meal? Well I made it and it has ALL the spices that I love in a mixture. Cumin, Turmeric, ginger, garlic and cilantro! It turned out tasty!

fermented drinks are supposed to be really good for gut health I think? Personally I've never gone down that road. You might enjoy them though. All in all it sounds like a great afternoon!

it's strange ya know, nothing stopping me from getting a cell phone really ( financially I could ). I just feel at this point since we have the free landline ( included in tv/internet package ) and I never stray too far from home, it would be an unnecessary expense.
Maybe one day DH will just have to satisfy his curiousity and get himself one. I know traveling 1.5 hrs to work each way everyday he's mentioned how awful it would be to break down in the dark ( shift worker ) on the hwy and have no way to call for help. He has a point.

same old, same old around here. Got annoyed at Apple+tv raising their prices come December so I axed my subscription. That'll be $14.68 a month ( taxes included ) I can use somewhere else. next to consider cancelling is Disney. I've become spoiled by so many great series and animated movies on there. May take some deep thought before I let it go. Hey what's a kitchen day? Is this where you strap on an apron and don't leave the kitchen until you've batch cooked up 3-4 meals for the week? lol Have a great Daylight savings sort of weekend!

I'm such a fan of slow cooking a cut of beef. The flavour for me is best when I use a blade steak cut. I will look for your recipe! Night owl here, " napped " for hours earlier. lol
