Well, there were 5 of us working on them….GS making the dough, then helping Hubby and I roll the cheesy potatoes into little footballs, lol, and DD and her Hubby using a pyrohy press to pop them out. I can’t hand-make them anymore, so I also bought a set of ravioli cutters fro Amazon. One is square, the other is round, but our DD would fold the dough over the potato balls and cut semicircles to look like pyrohy.
looking forward to your photo!Last edited by Lynn49; Mon, Jan 8th, 2024 at 07:59 AM.

We had a lot of fun making spaghetti for dinner last night. It was really tough to work the dough...but it was worth the kneading.
My husband and I had fun rolling the dough into spagetti
Cooking can be fun

@Lynn49 thanks! Yes, we wanted to try by hand our first time (we used 2 eggs in a well of 1 cup of semolina and 1 cup of 00 flour). In hindsight, we should've used 3 eggs...the dough was dry but we eventually got there adding water. We found a recipe for pasta dough using the Ninja processor which is much faster lol..https://pinchandswirl.com/food-processor-pasta-dough/
Yes we'll definitely try pyroghy (I actually have a cutter set I bought from a thrift store). We want to try egg roll wrappers as well. Lots of fun ahead!3.50 125.00 30.00

@crafter !! Fantastic first attempt, your spaghetti noodles are nice and thin. I also do my dough in a food processor, then the
small balls go into the pasta maker and voila! I wish i could get my body all squeezed out thin like that. ha ha
WE are making an APPY dinner. Frozen breaded shrimp ( coconut and butterfly ) , Ricotta cheese Pastizzi and a veg medley.
( the veg are leftovers that we will rejuvenate with melting cheese over them! haha

@crafter , if I’m not mistaken, our GS cracked 5-6 eggs into his dough recipe…I’ll check with him after school.
We have to make our own adventures, don’t we? Particularly during the dreary days of a too-long, cold winter…here, anyway.
Enjoy your cookery!
@walkonby , often left-overs are the best!! Cheers!

Yes you're right, we do have to keep ourselves busy during these winter days..hopefully the snow isn't too bad out your way. re dough, we watched a video with a guy making dough with 5 eggs and he had pasta drying all over the place. We figured that a smaller amount would be fine for us...it still made more than enough for us. I think we would use more making lasagna noodles etc.

@crafter only wish I was that patient to make the Pastizzi dough. Check out the method....gulp! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_inR9KaONPA
We started buying them frozen now as the Malta Bakery we used to get them from fresh is just too far away from us.
That bakery makes these frozen ones so we are getting their product but it requires thawing and baking on our part. Just my speed!
Forgot to mention that DH made up a huge pot of spaghetti with meat sauce while I was asleep. Great in a way, but there is just so much.Last edited by walkonby; Tue, Jan 9th, 2024 at 06:57 PM.

I made a large ( 10 eggs ) batch of egg salad. That was my dinner last night. Believe it or not the guys wanted HOT DOGS!? Nothing special about these, not even ALL beef.
The package drew them in, (Stampede Hot dogs ) as there are many in the package. I am guessing, who knows why they chose wieners in buns over a delicious freshly made egg sammy? They'll have sandwiches at lunch time today I guess.

Tonight is Creamy Chicken & Mushroom skillet with peas and parmesan added. Going to be honest, the recipe says parmesan is optional, in my world parmesan is never optional.
