I bought too much kraft singles (6 packs) and wonder bread (4 loaves). So we're going to have grilled cheese sandwiches with butternut squash soup (leftover from a few days ago).

Have you ever tried cheese dreams? They're a great way to use up cheese singles and bread but you would need bacon (can't remember if you're vegetarian).
Here's the recipe if you want to try.
put bread slices on a baking sheet and put under broiler to toast one side
Take out, flip bread slices and add cheese slice and cooked bacon (we break the bacon into 4 pieces on each)
Put back under broiler until the cheese has melted. We cut each slice into quarters.
oh my, now I might have to go out and buy some Wonderbread and cheese slices ..I'm craving them lol30 295.60 52.80

This meal will be for late lunch or very early dinner. The Baguettes were bought, the wine is chilling and the Blue Jays play a game at 3 with NO pressure! We already punched our ticket to the Wild Card Dance.
Now.....who has 2 thumbs and made a HUGE pot of pasta with meat sauce before 7 a.m. today?
THIS GAL!

Striploin steak from Independent, sadly it was a bit tough. I made a side of fried onions and mushrooms.

5 p.m. today Be there or be square. Just the 3 of us. A name brand sort of Thanksgiving cheater meal.
Butterball frozen turkey roll, Pepperidge farm crumb stuffing mix, Betty Crocker herb 'n Butter mashed, Franco American gravy.
The only effort I am making is roasting 3 small Delicata squash in the oven and only because I freaking love that type of squash.
Bwahahaha!!!
A bottle of wine will probably get opened?

We brought store bought pumpkin pie for dinner at my parents for last night. I made whipped cream from scratch..haven't done that in years...took a while until I clued in to mix it on high speed
I also tried a carrot salad recipe which turned out well.My Ninja food processor came in handy for shredding.(I would increase the dressing recipe by next time to make it a bit creamier). I added a half cup of raisins with a half cup of walnuts.

I recently bought 10lbs of carrots (Nantes - sweet and "coreless" as per the local greenhouse's ad). They are indeed sweeter than store bought ones. But now I have too much that I don't know what to do.
I've been eating them raw as snacks with dips. I also steamed some and add some to salads for dinners.
I may try my hands at baking with them next. What else can I with carrots? I'll pass on pickling carrots.
Can I freeze carrots? If yes, should I dice or shred them for freezing?

@Purdee , you can freeze carrots but I do find the texture changes unless you blanch them first. But I have shredded them and used them in baking.
I have used this recipe a few times and we really like it if you also have an Apple or two around:

Nothing on our meal plan was jumping out at me except the Broccoli Cheddar Soup but I did not get the Homemade Bread made on the weekend and it was too late to make it when I got in from work.
After a lot of thinking, way too much thinking, dinner was hard tonight. We decided on Perogie Bake because I grabbed 3 bags of Perogies last week when I went shopping.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

I know of a few people who shred and freeze carrots.
I just tried this carrot salad recipe and it was pretty good. I added 1/2 cup of raisins and 1/2 cup of walnuts
ngredients
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 Tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- Pinch fine sea salt
- Pinch ground black pepper
- 4 cups shredded carrots
- 1 cup raisins (I use a mixture of regular and golden raisins)
Instructions- In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, honey, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper.
- Add the carrots and raisins. Stir to mix until the carrots are evenly coated.
