Well... You go to the store, match your coupon with the correct product and, put the product on the counter and give the coupon to the cashier. The cashier scans the product and then takes the amount of the coupon off of your purchase. You pay the difference (if there is any) and any applicable taxes (which are charged on the full price of the item.) At the end of the day the tills are all counted and coupons collected. The coupons are sent to a big warehouse in St John, where they are processed and then the manufacturer reimburses the store for the coupon, along with any promised handling fees.
