    what are your favorite holiday recipies? trying to get my recipies together to decide what all to make and don't know what i would like to make this year. i like to have something new instead of the same old things. what are you making ?

    i realize this is the third thread i made on the holidays but it comes so quick and this week is my week to get lists together and start my holiday planning so i'm not so overwhelmed when december comes.

    I love the root vegetable mix we usually make.. includes turnips, parnips, carrots, with a semisweet (not overly sweet) glaze. Mmm.... ALso love brussel sprouts with basalmic and bacon. Great now I am hungry

    really could use some dessert help if anyone has any suggestions. we would like to do something new this year last year it was rum cake and blueberry crumble.

    Shortbread. Make up some dough for icebox cookies so it is on hand to slice and bake.
    I also make my chocolate éclairs.
    Truffle.

    chocolate eclairs and truffles sound good. can't do shortbread it never turns out for me. my friend who can not cook or bake makes really good shortbread but i can't and neither can my husband. lol go figure its suppose to be so easy

    I usually make a trifle but dh always likes a christmas pud as well which I just buy from the store as its so time comsuming to make and cheaper to buy it.We put brandy on top and light it and it gets blue flames as it taken to the table.



    Be a little kinder than necessary,remember everyone is fighting their own battles.
