What do the pictures have to do with it?

I was at walmart last night, and found the small nexus shampoos. I was going to buy THREE not thirty, when I got to the cash, the cashier said to me, I can't use the coupon because it's the wrong size. I told her their was no size rule on the coupon, she said no, the picture shows the large size, so I can't use the coupon! It was super busy and NO energy to fight her on it. But seriously?

That makes absolutely no sense for her to say to you. Sometimes I wish there were no pictures on the coupons LOL

The picture has nothing to do with the coupon at all! The coupons says any and there for it can be used on travel size.

The Manager at my local Walmart agrees- she said the term 'any' only means from what is pictured.

I was at the Walmart at Eglinton and Warden in Scarborough. I am usually the type that says.. "call in the manager" however it was Friday, I only had a few items, and i was in the jewelery line. Usually i find the cashier pretty up to date and good with coupons at this location.
I think it's actually funny. I wish I remember to bring my coupon policy pdf!

That is not good. I feel bad for you, I hope you were not going in just for the shampoo, especially on a Friday when it is busy. I wonder what would happen if you went back today and got another cashier. Just wondering if it is a new store policy at that store.

Good choice to walk out. Not worth your breath or stress to fight with them. Tried that, doesn't work. Just try again another time with another cashier and you will probably have no problems - that works for me everytime.

I love the word ANY but alot of ppl don`t know how to read and only look at pictures. I have had so many untrained cashiers and managers in my 2 years of couponing. Some times I just want to shake some sense into them. ANY means ANY.... I am really considering bringing a dictionary in with me when I shop.

that happened to me too @ CT for the Scott papertowel... because the picture is not the same they said I can't use the coupon... frustrating!!!

I was going to say the same thing. I'll photocopy the definition and add it to my coupon policies. I redeemed a cereal box ice cream coupon at SDM and the woman said because General Mills was going to reimmburse them, I had to pick a GM ice cream. What the what now? I told her that GM makes cereal and it says any. I was thoroughly convinced that she was going to tell me that SDM doesn't carry the "any" brand. I had to explain the concept of any to her several times...even my then 9 y/o daughter was wondering why she didn't get it.

Great Idea!

I know in my experience, sometimes the manufacturers use coupons as a way to advertise a new product by putting a picture of it on the coupon. But they still use that wonderful word, "any"! Any means any! Regardless of what's pictured!

I have had a few run in with my local WM lately....first they refused to take my johnson fpc because I was trying to get the parent pack....the manager insisted it was to be used for a single item like shampoo instead of a pack with more than one item....Also thet argued over my dish washer kit coupons....said they dont take printables.
So next time I had the policy with me......no hassle after that.
I wish they would learn their own policy, just as well to get used to the fact more people are couponing.....
