-

Hi There!
I am planning to begin a stockpile very shortly, as I am planning to move out. I was wondering if any of you wonderful SC had an KEY items to build a stockpile on? an maybe even some great deals or coupons for these items.
I know its a long shot but any help would be great! Even pictures of all your wonderful treasures! I'm also planning a trip to Buffalo very soon, hopefully going to stock up on some things down there that aren't so cheap here
Again thanks for any advice! This thread is currently associated with: N/A

Laundry detergent, fabric softener, bounce sheets, dish soap, cleaning wipes (lysol, clorox, etc.), body wash, bar soap, razors, shaving cream, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorants, shampoo, conditioner, other hair products if you use them, pet food, pet supplies (litter, treats, etc.), baby wipes (always handy even without babies), diapers, baby shampoo, baby powder, baby wash, etc.
Dry pasta, pasta sauce, kraft dinner, hamburger helper, canned foods (vegetables, soups, beans, etc.), condiments (ketchup, mustard, relish, mayo, etc.), peanut butter, jam, salad dressing, BBQ sauces, spices, baking supplies.
Really, anything that won't go bad before you'll use it (usually stockpile enough for 3-6mos) and that doesn't need to be stored in the fridge as long as it's not opened.

I still live at home but have started a stockpile of things I am going to need when I move out as well as what I need right now.
I stockpile laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, bodywash, shampoo/conditioner, hairspray, body lotion, shaving cream, razors, toothbrushes, handsoap, facewash, tampons, airfreshners, ziplocs.
I have yet to stockpile paper products as I only have limited space but these are great as they never go bad.
Good luck starting your stockpile!

A stockpile really comes in handy when you move as your money goes to other expenses. If you play your cards right you will be able to save subsantially. I would also think about what types of foods I eat for the next season(ie/fall). Stock up on things that currently aren't currently in season(ie soup). Also things that are in season now and may be more expensive now such as strawberries or other fruits. Much cheaper to store and bag your own.

I usually try to stock up for three months at a time, which seems to be how the sale cycles run. I also keep a pricelist, so when i get something at a great deal, i know how much to pay next time i have to stock up!

im a newbie, to me this is a great tip. There is 180 load snuggle on sale for 9.97 with the one dollar off coupon basically its 10 still. To me, I think this is a great deal (its the club size at RCSS).
As per your records, have you ever bought this before? at this price or better? Im debating on whether to go back and buy any more or not.
what do you find is the best brand that is always on sale?? as you guys have stock piles... you must notice certain brands always having sales or being way cheaper than other products correct???

Surprisingly I usually find that having a good number of coupons and waiting for the sale means the big brand names are usually the cheapest buy. I stock up on Tide when it goes on sale really low, they usually have coupons available too so it works out to just pennies per load.
Purex is another good brand for that, always on sale, always has coupons around.
As for fabric softener, I often just buy the big value bottle at full price (usually around $10 anyway) as that will last my family a year!

Lots of good advice so far. Save up your coupons and multiples of them. Things go on clearance randomly and you can get alot for very little if you have the coupons at hand. Stay close to this board and check in for a few minutes each day. Reading the brags really helps to let you know what others have bought that day and what coupons or deals they used to get it.
For example I had no idea Dissolve laundry sheets were even out there. But someone bragged that they got some at Wal-mart with a $2 printable for free. As the sheets were $1.97 for a pack of 10. So I went that day and bought 2 packs for free. Someone posted in the brags yesterday that they used the P&G save $2 dogfood coupons on the trial size that was at Wal-mart. Went the next morning and I got 5 bags at $1.73 each and used the $2 coupons and made money. (giving the dog food to my brother). When these deals come up you need to shop right away or the shelves are empty. Clearance was just on Glade spring collection stuff. With a printable of B1G1 free. Your Wal-Mart might still have some. Works out to be $1.50 each for the smellies (candles/plug-ins etc.) Printables for Ziploc have been great. They just expired but I am sure they will show up again and they were a money maker at Wal-mart when they had there sale a few weeks back.
Just keep your eyes open and come to SC often. Soon the deals will be yours.
Everyones stockpile ideas were great. It will take a little bit to make a stash but then after that its easy to maintain.http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/PinkSapphire. Click to get FREE Giftcards just for searching the web. It is so easy.

Just a reminder that depending where you move to, if you use a communal laundry it might be powdered detergent only (or vice versa). My old apartment complex had ancient machines that required powder. Also front loaders use the high efficiency detergents instead (although this depends whether you choose to use what is recommended or not).
My advice is not to feel like you *need* anything. You can always pop out to the store if something becomes urgent. This is more like, for kitchen utensils, electronics, glade and febreeze, the non-necessities. Never feel like you have to get something just because it is in the store and other people have it in their house. Wait until it is on clearance (or couponable) before picking it up.
I wasted lots of money by rushing out to buy things like a toasted sandwich machine right away, scented candles, etc, when I could have saved lots of money by waiting to get one on deep discount. Sandwich emergencies aside, these things are not necessary for the first few months (++).

Im pretty new at this my self, and from what I have learned is that the stockpile doesnt happen over night, for most im sure. Iv gradually baught things on sale with coupons every week. Today Im going out to get Majesta paper towel, 8 roll pack. Which are on sale for 1.99+tax and Im geting them for 99cents ($1.26) and last night I was in Lawtons only to get the Old Spice body wash, on for 2.99 and I got it for 99 cents. Then I noticed that Gillette Shave Gel were on sale for 1.89... so I baught 6 and got them for about 46 cents each after tax.. Pretty much got 6 of them for the price of one. All 7 Items only cost me $4.19... I loves it....... So my stock pile grows as the sales and weeks go by.

Anything and everything, really! I find the key is keeping it neat and tidy. Have some shelves so that everything is visible and up off the floor. Try to pick up a couple of clipboards so you can keep an inventory list with expiry dates...that way nothing gets thrown out and you can just look at your list to see what you should be eating that week. Keep things rotating to avoid waste!
Also, keep your food items away from all the laundry stuff, soap, etc. Same with pet food...or the smells will get inside the food packages.
