Does anyone buy coupon books from entertainment.com?

Friend of mine gave me a bunch of coupons that are of no use to her. (she lives in the Beaches, the coupons were for Brampton restaurants, she never gets out this way) I used one at a local eatery that I'd been to before. A few weeks later, I went back, and was told that they were no longer honouring the coupons because the restaurant was under new ownership.

I presented the coupon before ordering, so I could have passed and walked out, but decided to stay. Should I have put up a fuss?

I'd say no. I would think current mgmt can not be responsible for decisions made in the past.

At that point, I would think your options would be to either leave or stay and not be able to use it. I would think putting up a fuss would not be good for anyone. Remember, they are providing you with food. I wouldn't want to be the person who argues with a restaurant BEFORE they serve you your food, if you get my drift

Can't say I agree with the new management's decision, though. They're getting advertising, courtesy the previous owners' agreement with the coupon distributors.

Like I said, I'd been there in the past, and the experience wouldn't affect future visits. But the whole purpose of the coupons would be to encourage new customers to visit establishments they may not have visited otherwise. Had I paid for the book myself, and been told they weren't honouring them, I'd probably not have been keen to return.
