Hi I am new to using coupons to this extreme , I have always used 1 or 2. My question is when taking coupons from a tear pad how many do you take ? I have been taking 6 but have went back a couple times (I feel like this is a confessional LOL) Anyway I want to do this with some etiquette. Any opinions are welcome

I usually take 5. If I happen to go back another time and their are lots, I might grab another 5. I don't do a lot of trading so there isn't much point for me taking any more than I might use on a sale.

Would you take the same amount if the product was free ?

Honestly...yah. I live in a small apartment and we are bursting at the seams. I can only store so much of something.
It also depends on what the product is. If it is free or close to free then I might get enough to last for a few months - that is if it is small enough to store. Toothpaste, a dozen or so? But I'm a pretty firm believer in leaving enough for others, so it all just depends on how much is there.Join me on Swagbucks and earn money and giftcards. So easy, so fun!

I have been taking 6 if there are lots on the tear pad. If it is getting close to the bottom I will only take 2. I always wonder though... if you take a bunch and a staff member sees you has anyone ever been "busted"?

I usually take five. If it is something I know we will use a lot of and there are a lot on the pad, I take a few more than that, but five is the magic number for me in most cases. My three youngest children (10, 8, 5,) always keep their eyes open for coupons when they are out with me or their daddy...sometimes they will bring some home for me and they always bring exactly 5 of each coupon..they never forget the "5 rule". lol
I sometimes will grab some more if I am in the store another time and I see that there are still many left and I know that I will be able to use them.
It is my opinion that the appropriate number of coupons is different for every person..there are many factors to consider...the size of your household, how fast you go through that particular item, how much you will be able to afford to buy/have room to store before the coupon expires. I have found that I have become better at judging how many to take as I've gained more experience.
