You are all wonderful
I try to include extras in trades and I play the coupon fairy when I go shopping but I haven't had a chance to really make a difference by giving a big donation. I was planning on donating a bunch of Gillette shaving cream to our local food bank this Christmas but P&G didn't give out any new $5.00 WUB3 Gillette so my plan isn't going to work
I hope I can do something similar with Bush's beans or some other sort of canned food.

Just download the picture you have into an album under your name (you can make an album if you don't have one. Then once it is downloaded, open up the picture, at the bottom you will see 2 addresses, click on the 2nd one, copy and paste that address onto your post, then submit your post. The address will be turned into your image when it is posted.

Hey,
This Christas ym family really wants to adopt a women's shelter. Anybody have any ideas of what to put into baskets?
So far I'm thinking
Soaps, Body Spray
Pads,
Toothpaste
Chips & Chocolate
We have around $50 to spend, probably will go over, but really needing ideas of what any women would like in a basket !I've earned $10 this week in amazon.ca giftcards.

Are you adopting a woman at the shelted or the shelter itself? You are not clear on that. Women's shelters need things like diapers for the babies who usually end up there with their moms, personal hygiene products (shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and brushes, deodarant, soaps, baby items like ointment, soaps) they also can use snack donations, laundry supplies, the list is endless. Most women's shelters have many many children there, so things like little books, crayons and things are also greatly appreciated. Hope this helps. As for adopting one women, not sure how that would work as there are always so many people there, it might end up being a bit awkward.

I agree with Holly--anything and eveything will be needed and appreiated...
My donations always include winter items this time of yr--such as gloves and socks (Hard to get coupons for but oh well!)

Wow no bumps since monday, how sad.
I hate that I haven't been on here in a while.
I ROAKed a few people in WM the other day, and they were very happy as was I!

This is a sneak peek at some of the things myself and my 5 DD's have been saving since Jan. 1 of this year, it is all being dontated to the homeless shelter in our city. We are also making 115 personal hampers for the folks that use the facility. Then all of the sanitary supplies and the baby diapers and items are going to a womens shelter in our city that is bursting at the seams.

We do this every year, but this is our biggest to date. It is tons of work we have to shelve and inventory everything, then make the hampers, and box up everything else according to where it is going, then we have to deliver it all. We are hoping to have all this done by the 15th of December.Last edited by hollyquaiscer; Thu, Nov 24th, 2011 at 09:49 PM. Reason: spelling
