2 weeks new here, just introducing myself now

Hello All!
I am new to couponing, and yes, I have to admit that the TLC show was what inspired me to at least check in to couponing in Canada. I was excited to find a site with so much information, so many resources & links and an online community all in one place! I joined up with SC a couple of weeks ago and my first SC message was from Boo. I gave it a glance, but (shame on me) I did not fully read it until today, so I am just now 'officially' introducing myself to SC.

For the last 2 years I've been a stay at home mom (after being 'restructured' out of my position of 14 years). My husband and I are raising our 8 & 10 year old sons, and a year ago we added our (now) 13 year old nephew to our family. Our current family income and our ability to stretch it, is being tested by the needs of 3 growing boys.

I've previously admitted to feeling somewhat embarrassed about using coupons. I felt that somehow there was a sense of shame attached to using them, and that the person who used a coupon was just cheap.
With family finances being stretched beyond their limit, and the TLC coupon show airing, I put the 2 together and decided in an effort to make my family’s money go further, I needed to 'bite the bullet' & give couponing a try to see if it really could make a difference to our bottom line.
Enter SMARTCANUCKS...
Well, I braved my own self-imposed sense of shame and used a Listerine coupon. A bottle of Listerine that under normal circumstances would have cost me as much as $7, I got for $2! Wow, was that a heady adrenaline rush!
I am learning to let go of feeling embarrassed about using coupons, and I am reaping the benefits. Already, using coupons is making a difference to our family budget. I’ve even bragged 2 times about my successes, and everyone has been so nice and so encouraging...
I think I'm gonna enjoy couponing and being part of this community!

Welcome to the board! I use to feel the same way about couponing until I really got into it to. Now I get to be a stay at home mom because we can make one income work for us. Hope you're having a great weekend! Feel free to ask questions.
