I don't think that is right travelgeek; we use cfl light bulbs in every room. The electricians and general contractor doing reno's in our house have been putting them up; this includes the bathroom, kitchen, bedrooms, etc..

I have a couple of CFL packages in front of me.... one of them says "Not for use with dimmer switches", and the other says "Use with dimmer switches will shorten bulb life and invalidate bulb warranty".

Just checked the packaging of the MaxLite CFL bulbs we have. Yeah in fine print it says don't use with dimmer switches. My bad travelgeek!

I'll tell my electrician when hes up though; we've had a few in for a while and hasn't caused any problems.
