Thread: Ordering Coupons Off Ebay
-
Mon, Jun 20th, 2011, 07:15 PM #1
So I just ordered my first few batches of coupons off Ebay. I usually get my coupons from the newspaper inserts and from ordering online (Websaver, Save.ca, Product websites, etc), and find that I'm wanting more variety without having to do all the hunting (ex. tear pads).
Would love to know who's ordered coupons off Ebay, and your successful/not so successful orders.
*Now I just have to wait for the postal strike to be over*

Some of them you know, they will list them. Others will say things like Over $200 in Grocery Coupons, Women's Only Coupons, Cleaning Coupons, Oral Coupons, etc.
I ordered a couple packages just to see if i'll be worth it. I ordered a couple that claim to have over $200 in coupon value, and only paid between $1.50 and $5 for them.

I have ordered from ebay but only once. I ordered the P&G inserts. I had no problems at all, the only hesitation I have is that the prices get driven up rather quickly, to the point where I have to figure out if the cost of the coupons and shipping is worth it.
I set my max price and then walk away without checking in before the bidding ends. I don't want to find myself getting into a bidding war and running the price to the point where I don't feel comfortable paying.
The only reason I order off of ebay is because in the lovely town of Thunder Bay, we only recycle every other week and we use blue bags rather than blue bins (being a southern ontario girl, I never really understood why they do this) which eliminates the possibility of doing a recycling walk. Our recycle depots are also locked during off hours and manned during the day, so dumpster diving isn't an option either.
Good luck with the whole ebay thing. My only advise would be set you maximum and walk away. There are always plenty of other coupons to bid on.

I bought a couple of brandsavers from ebay, the closest place to me that carries them is over an hour away. So I figure I'm spending MUCH less in postage than I would in gas.

I do, in our town there is no variety at all, having only yig or rcss (only cz for both), metro and basics. We get no inserts in our papers delivered or store bought so its tough. I still coupon shop when ever i go out but its slim pickings. I limit my bids to a max of 3-5% of the total value of the coupons including shipping. This is just what im willing to pay, im cheap, thats why i coupon. I rarely to never order from the tear pad takers that are offering 10 of one kind of tearpad coupon and have multi lots going. I like a variety of coupons with limited to no doubles. And you are paying for the service to collect and clip, not the coupons themselves. Happy bidding!

I find trading on SC is usually cheaper and more reliable, I have bought coupons a few times, last year I got an envie of shoppers voice for $1.60 inc shipping full of FPCs and HV coupons but its rare that its worth it - people always have them on here and there are plenty of stories of fraudulent/expired/US coupons being sold on ebay for Cdns
