I agree with the many other posters...why does she need to prove it? Why does someone take the time to post the coupon policy in an attempt to make her justify her shopping?
Drives me crazy the Coupon Police on here that ruin an otherwise supportive and informative site.

Just because a coupon policy is posted on the retailer's website doesn't mean 100% of the stores, 100% of the cashiers in the stores, follow the policy 100% of the time. Heck I can go to three different stores of the same chain, and depending on the cashier, or even depending on his/her mood, sometimes they accept coupons, sometimes they don't, some give overages, some don't, despite policies... it just depends. Maybe this Sc'er was lucky, maybe cashier was misinformed, whatever. To ask for proof is silly. It is what it is, folks, to question and to insist when one wasn't even present at the time is a waste of time when we should really focus on what's important. Deals, deals, deals, oh yea!

She answered earlier that the figure for GST calculation was based off the total she paid. This has been my experience as well, when I do a big coupon shop at Walmart or Target then bring my haul back across to Canada. Then again, the border agents at our crossing are super nice and only charge us tax if our receipt total is over $1000.

I cross the border several times a month for the last few years - we're building another house and buy all our supplies equipment etc down there. If anyone has specific questions about customs/tax/food import/whatever just pm me.

Ok, I missed the response among all the other stuff. I travel down several times a year but am couponing for the first time this trip so I was just curious as to what they expect. I know how random they can be. Coming into the US this time around they didn't even ask if we had any food, they were more concerned with my husband's occupation! LOL

I wish the 2 wallgreens here doubled coupons , but they have some seriously marked down items that I had coupons for.

On the bright side I'm loving the catalina's that I'm getting from Target and K-Mart! They have all been good ones!

I think the op should show here haul and receipt when she gets a chance, not to prove anything, but to just plain old brag!!!
