I have my cards! I'm so excited because I didn't get a chance last time to participate (that was the one week our delivery person decided not to deliver or flyers. Hmmm... )

So, I went around last night, got a couple extra free papers with flyer packs, as well as some from family and friends who wouldn't be using them. I now have 11 cards. YAY!!!

So, my question is, how does this work? Do I just take all my cards to the desk at CT and have them scratch them, or do I have to make a purchase for each one?

I am not sure if it is the same everywhere but here where i live in ontario you can only use one card per person per day. You take the card to the cash and scratch it in front of them after they ring through your stuff. they will then ring in whatever your gift is

You can only use one at a time. The last time (with $5.00 cards), I used one at a time, put my product in the car and walked back in the store and did it again (went to a different cashier). Took Hubby with me once. I did this a couple of times both Saturday and Sunday. I'm lucky, I live within walking distance of a CT.

With the M&M cards, Hubby and I just took them to customer service (one or two at a time).

I know it seems like a bit of a pain, but I had every one of my neighbours (I knocked on a lot of doors) so when they all added up, I got $50 in CT product and $30 in M&M coupons....definitely worth the hassle.

Each CT may be different with regards to making a purchase. It does say "no purchase necessary" but at a couple stores, some people were saying that the staff wanted a 200 word essay written, in lieu of the purchase lol.

I think i'm just going to pick up some .10 sandpaper (oh I bet i'll get some looks lol) and get a few Timmies cards. I actually need the sandpaper anyways, as we're repainting our porch swing.

I'll also be buying the paint I need for that if I can get a $5 card

Well I knew what my cards were before I went to the store, so I always had $5.00-$5.50 worth of product each time I went to the cash. The M&M and this time, the Tim Hortons, I go directly to customer service with them.

I also used alot of my B1G1 coupons on that day too to stretch the savings further...So actually I ended up with more than $50.00 worth of CT product

Just checked the papers in the lobby and still tons left. Grabbed 5 more cards so now I have 10 (all $5.00 off). I am guessing that Cdn Tire is aware that people (especially in condos or apartments) have easy access to multiple cards. They have done the scratch cards before and I am sure they made $ or they wouldn't do it again. It gets us in the store. There is no difference to them if it's me going to the cash 10 different times or if it's 10 different customers. I will be spreading my discounts out between 3 stores though to be (somewhat) fair.

How are you all finding out how much the cards are worth? I'd love to know beforehand.

They're using a light to shine through the back or tape to peel off the scratch coating. I didn't need to use tape, but I guess some cards had thicker coatings than others! The barcode ending with 83458 is the $5 and 02466 is the $3 Tim's card.

I've got a bunch of card and some were easy to see under light bulb (all CT5$) other bunch of card was having a thicker coating and was not possible to see something other the light bulb so I needed to tape it a little bit (all where 3$ Tim)...

Probably just a hasard for the thicker coating on 3$ Tim vs less coating on 5$ CT...

I just got back from shopping. I had 11 cards, all Tim's cards. Not too bad, that's $33 worth of coffee! I was able to spend only $11.92 to use my cards and got a lot of stuff for that small amount. I'm quite pleased!
