My Mum was in Fields Dollar Depot this morning and she said they are charging $0.03 a bag.

charging for bags seems to be the trend. but you can bet these stores that charge 5 cents per bag must certainly be making good money from them as there is no way it costs them a nickle. I really like my re-useable bags, got a few from Safeway last week and they are really awesome. They fold down they are square shaped like a box with padding on the bottom which make them ideal for heavy items like boxes.

I was in Please Mum in Bower Mall few months back (havent been there is ages before that) and when I was at the cashier she asked me if I will be needing a bag and I said of course. She offered me for $1 reusable and gave me a sob story how we need to be more aware of our use of plastic bags. You know, I am all for saving our planet but if you are trying to teach me to be better than dont ask me to pay for it when you are giving plastic one for free. Why dont you make me pay for plastic one and give the reusable one for free, wouldnt that make more sense? Plastic is bad, if you want it that bad, sure here is one for $5. It would most def. change me from using plastic to reusable.
But of course, than they are losing money. It's a vicious circle.Last edited by MostarkaGirl; Sun, Aug 7th, 2011 at 11:28 AM.
