I was just talking to someone at home, who said that our microwave isn't working. Makes sounds like it is, but things don't get hot. It's probably four or five years old, time to replace it I guess.

Anybody have a scoop on a deal? Thanks in advance!

Maybe it's only a fuse? That's what it was for ours last time it died, but husband knew how to check for it and replace it.

    Depends what size you are after - I know I like 1 cu.ft. and 1000w -

    these are on at Sears

For the WalMart site, you have to put in your own postal code - there are some good prices there for GE - a 1.1 for 89

Not sure if it's a fuse, definitely not the kind that blows the circuit. The microwave still runs, just doesn't heat anything. I'm not handy about such things really, so I don't think I'll be pulling it apart.

Ours was a fuse in the microwave itself, the microwave had stopped working altogether. It was just that I was saying since it was dead, ok we need a new microwave, but thank goodness for electrician husband, he knew to check it out - and for pennies, it was operable and fine again.

So yeah, yours is definitely a different situation.

Oh yes, if I had an electrician hubby, we'd be checking it out! But let's just say I don't have that kind.
